There's different opinions. I thought it was 100, but somebody I know used 40%. That's was for St. John's wort though (4 days the flower hairs, than strain) If you are making a flower or leaf tincture you only need an 80 proof vodka (so 40% alcohol) and if you're making a tincture from roots you want 100 proof. Completely fill your jar of herbs/roots and cover in vodka. Seal it tightly...you should put plastic or wax paper between the lid and jar since the vodka may cause some corrosion. Pretty sure you want to leave a jar to sit for at least a month to 6 weeks...longer is better. |

Warm it in your hands and work into the scalp for dandruff. Leave it on all day if you can. Completely shifts really nasty dandruff - you may need to repeat. I tried all the usual medicinal stuff until I read about this here on GLP! Also the best grade Manuka honey for cuts, spots, skin infections, burns etc. Dab a bit on, it dries up spots overnight. Crazy stuff. "If you want to shine like the sun, first you have to burn like it." |

Herbs grow in the wild so the only shortage I see here is your intelligence. I don't smoke pot and I'd venture a guess that my IQ beats yours by at least 100 points. One that grows way too large to keep in pots in a greenhouse. We maybe should try to focus on things that can grow from seed or be propagated from cuttings and overwintered in a greenhouse in northern 'temperate' climates (aka cold wx with probably at least some snow & ice during the winter). The GLP'ers who do live in the tropics will have things they can't grow reliably too, although not as many. 'bout time to hoist that ole black flag... |

I am in the North East and I have some ginger growing in a pot on my porch that will have to be "dealt with" when it gets cold. I get ground cinnamon in 50# boxes and it can be kept for a long time. I know not everyone can do this but it's a good time to be looking for bulk sources of certain things before we can't. |

Quoting: TheEmptyChild Just curious - where do you get good quality cinnamon in 50LB boxes from? Also something to note is that a lot of what is sold as cinnamon isn't really even 'true' (ceylon) cinnamon, it's cassia cinnamon. If it's just a few sprinkles for your oatmeal, it's not a big deal and no need to pay more for true cinnamon. But if you're consuming it in large quantities for medicinal purposes, the cassia kind contains a lot more of a compound called coumarin, which can cause liver damage when exposed to a lot of it over time... 'bout time to hoist that ole black flag... |

User ID: 80395036 United States 08/07/2021 12:05 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | A few monthes back at the height of the 'vaccine' frenzy, I went to my local liberal stronghold for grocries, I got shedded on by the vaxxed patrons, and came down with some symptoms... ankles swelled, no energy, heart racing all the time and feeling weak. So, I turned to the Hawthorn for relief. I made up a fresh batch of strong Hawthorn tea, and drank it throuout the day, and did this for about a week. Immediately, I noticed my swelling started to subside, and it took awhile, but my energy came back, too. Hawthorn is a well known heart tonic, and is found in every book on herbal remedies. Not medical advice... just sharing what worked for me. I am fortunate to live in a northern temperate forest which is loaded with medicinal plants of all types, and I can harvest them fresh off the vine. God our Father gave his children a Paradise of Nature... all we need to do is utilze His gifts of healing. Great thread topic, OP, I hope you can keep it going to help out some folks with their ills! Most people can't grow it in their climate but the grocery stores are usually well stocked. Don't buy it if it's from China. Cut it up...boil it and make tea. Excellent for preventing strokes and other heart issues. It's really good for loosening mucous and phlegm when you have a cold. If you have nausea it's incredible for soothing your stomach. I drink it every day. [link to www.healthline.com (secure)] |
