Serious question. Why can't we split the united states in two?

Nearly impossible for a nation to split without war/civil war or complete societal/economic meltdown that ruins the existing government.

Too many intertwining interests, blood is the only way that type of agreement is decided

If it happened they would all declare us the enemy and terrorist and a threat to their nation and way of life. Then they would hunt down and exterminate every conservative they could find within their borders.

Then they would declare war on the free states.

Republicans don't have the balls to follow through and fight for what they believe in, so they will never take that first step.

where are you going to make the divide? East/West? that would give the Peoples Republics on the coast even more of a stranglehold on politics.
Seperate the coastal blue states and make the inland red states it's own country then hope the coasts don't tariff the ever loving shit out of you?

Leave highways as free travel between states/countries. Let the states choose which way they want to go.

Probably better to let the east and west coasts go communist, but they'd be 2 different countries then let the middle stay a Republic.

Texas has an economy larger than most of the countries in the world, and also is geographically located where it's feasible to implement border control.

Most of the other states aren't in that position.

It can be split into multiple regions via a National Constitutional Convention(Article V). Keep the Bill of Rights off the table and dissolve the federal government in its present configuration. Then reassemble it at the regional level.

Consider the privation and extreme brutality and sacrifice that comes with a civil war. Our previous Civil War was the bloodiest conflict in our national history! The alternative - peaceful separation - is not easy but it is definitely easier and FAR preferable, no matter how you slice it! Unlikely perhaps, but peaceable separation is far preferable to war. Once started, civil war would spiral out of control and we'd end up with a one-party tyranny, no better than we are now!

The nation would have to be divided in thirds (at a a minimum) as things are just slightly more complex than merely the Red and Blue Teams that presently comprise the dual wings of the statist, collectivist Uniparty. Just look where they've gotten us now! They both share massive responsibility for our nation being nearly in shambles. The Wars on Drugs, Terror, COVID, etc. are all thoroughly bipartisan affairs. Both teams wipe their rears with the Constitution and Bill of Rights when it suits them. Both teams' loyalties are suspect and they answer to foreign nations and lobbyists. Both teams pay lip service to liberty, but both grow the state's power at every opportunity. In the final analysis, a police state is a police state is a police state, and either party having dominance would inevtiably end up there in short order.

Indeed, a paleoconservative, libertarian-ish territory where interaction and security are voluntary and the state is kept to an absolute minimum would be my (and many others') preference! Live and let live, which neither team seems interested in. Worst case, they kill each other off, but I truly hope not!
