I want to know why none of the individuals that are giving these IM injections are aspirating (pulling the plunger back) to make sure they are not in a blood vessel, everytime they give these injections? Aspiration is standard safety procedure for all injections.

Injecting directly into a blood vessel with a medication that is meant to be injected into either subcutaneous or intramuscular tissues can be lethal.

So, again, why are they not aspirating to check for a blood flashback? This makes no sense!

I've been giving IM & SQ injections for over 35 years. In that time frame I have aspirated 100% of the time. I've only gotten blood 5 times. When this happens you immediately stop, remove the syringe & toss the medication. Time to start over. While it's not very common, it does happen. And it can be the difference between life & death!

The only medication not requiring aspiration is Vitamin B12. It is actually red in color & is not toxic if given into a blood vessel.

Imagine the difference between a person's bodily reaction to subcutaneous Insulin & IV Insulin. Injecting anything into a blood vessel getting into your system much faster, it does not have to be absorbed into the tissues first.

Why are they doing this? Way too dangerous!
