California inmate confesses to killing 2 child molesters, says he did it as a 'favor'

Inmates shouldn't be allowed to watch TV period.

Truth is this guy did it for some type of credit or payment within the prison system. Nuff said.

There are many who have been molested in such a way that it not only fucked up their life, but their children's and grandchildren's. You don't speak for everyone.

We, as a society, have laws and rules for the treatment of prisoners that we take.

Our system is often flawed. The guilty go free, but the innocent are also incarcerated by the state, all too often.

We can't fix a lot of these issues. People plea bargain, prosecutors become overzealous and ugly people are seen as being more sinister than the pretty, even if it is not the case.

So, as a society, we have a duty, and a burden, to ensure that anyone under our (state) control is not harmed or abused. That they have adequate food to allow for health. That they have adequate entertainment that they don't go insane...

And that they are left free of physical or sexual harm.

This, the murder of anyone in our prisons, is a bad thing. They were not sentenced to death. The person doing this is not some enlightened being who cannot make mistakes.

Each of us should demand that our prisoners, those taken and held in our names, be given enough protection to allow them human dignity. Not because they all deserve it. No. Many of them might not, to many members of the public. We make certain they get human rights and protections because our system fails, constantly. It is wrong, broken and bent, all too often.

So we protect the innocent we have maligned, or at least should be doing that, instead of acting like we are infallible gods.

Not because we do not feel anger at the horrible actions of some. No, we do it to protect those we, as a society, might be wronging already, taking their freedom and comfort from them, incorrectly.

The child molesters could have gotten parolled to offend again. That guy did good work taking them off the planet. That was good work and a righteous act.

So you've been molested and gotten over it through; counseling, therapy, medications and a slew of other problems? I know folks who have some significant issues because of an uncle or a friend of the family. Some live in fear, some never seem "okay", some take their own life. Those Happy-campers may not have been able to hurt any more kids... But those kids they hurt might sleep a little better from now on.
