I recommend the Israeli martial art called Krav Maga. It is based on very simple techniques requiring little in the way of size or strength.

You cannot get what you need from a YouTube video. You need to practice what you learn on others while they practice on you.

Whatever form of self-defense you choose, you need to find a place to learn and practice with a partner.

Get a gun. I recommend a 12 gauge for the house and a 9mm for personal carry. You're not going to win a fight with a man, no matter what you know.

I know of No Women, who could take Me out during an attack. I know Plenty of Women who could Shoot Me however.

Oh Man, I love Range Day ..... When I was in the Army, I would run Range Week (NCOIC- Noncommissioned Officer In charge). Sit in the Tower giving out commands, and then when I got bored go down to a lane and just pop a few 3 round burst .... lol

Honestly OP, the best way to protect yourself from an aggressor, is to learn how to use a firearm.

You can learn how to fight, however the necessary skills take a long time to learn, and in most cases a man is just simply going to over power you.

The best way to level the field is to become proficient with a firearm. Every female in my family has learned how to use a firearm to protect herself.

Go do Brazilian jui jitsu. Your welcome. Then you can learn some boxing and kickboxing later on . Most bjj gyms teach mma stuffalso. Also you'll get in great shape . Also learn to shoot and carry. But you have to train often. I just started concealed carry. To many crazy people out nowadays.

Plus guns are fun, inexpensive, easy to use, and very effective. Learning to fight is difficult, takes a long time, and may not even work.
