They will continue to make light of it until such time as, overnight, Russia will have taken the region from Poland to Slovenia.

The Russians must do it now, before USA is able to build up a credible force. And winter is coming. That might deter the Europeans from getting involved. They have a gas shortage already.

My personal analysis is that Putin believes he is trying to save Ukraine from the grips and influence of the evil decadence of the Western liberal Democracy, and he sees now as the best opportunity to do this with a weakened commander-in-chief at the helm.

He will waltz in, take Ukraine and there's in nothing the West can do about it. Even more insulting, the Ukrainians, to some extent, will welcome their Russian benefactors
