They bought a pistol for an underage mentally ill 15 year old idiot.
They lied about his possession of it.

In my opinion they are completely at fault, it's not a child's staring weapon, and that's that.
The only possible excuse is that the sig 2022 sight picture is a little different than normal factory sight alignment but not enough so that a case can be claimed that it was responsible for accidentally and unintentionally resulted in unintentional bullet impact.
In fact people unfamiliar with that particular weapon complain that the point of impact is lower than expected.
The unique sight alignment was how the French intelligence agency wanted it, the fucking frogs always have to be different just to be different.

Can you please provide proof, a link, that the parents purchased the gun for the kid? I have not read that.

I'm confused. I read that the father bought the gun for himself, and the kid falsely bragged on social media that it was his.

What's sad is that the school said there were no discipline problems with this boy.

We bought my daughter a rifle when she was 17. That's all she wanted for Christmas that year. She took it to college with her. Her college had classes in riflery. That's the only A she received ....lol.

She and her friends would carry their rifles on their shoulders across campus to the woods and go target shooting. One time she said they even passed a policeman and he told them to have fun.

Maybe times were different then, but this will be another reason for Democrats in Congress to ban guns.

The gun was bought at a gun shop and the ffl form filled out with the parent signing that it was not for a straw purchase.

If you know better, you better prove the parents didnt lie at the FFL dealers, and to the concerned school officials about who had custody of their Christmas gift to their fucked up kid.

The fact pattern is simple.He couldn't have done this on his own and it's not fully addressed by technicalities about what constitutes notification and threat and who was capable of preventing this mess. If kids were afraid to the point of not attending school that day someone at the shooters home wasn't paying attention.

You can't expect a spoiled suburban geek to be responsible with an instrument of death.

There's no excuse.

There was, by definition no due diligence or supervision but if you want to pretend that wasn't necessary then you can just make anything up as you want

Why run?

So in reality the dad bought the gun for his son so he could be a real man. Now the real man will be spending the rest of his life in prison probably along with the dad. And 4 young people are gone forever.

Right. I agree. The school should have sent him home and they instead sent him back to class to murder. Murder students that school was entrusted to protect.

The parents were incredibly reckless and aren't squirming out of this one.

In a presser today, the DA read from the mother's text messages to her son and one of the exchanges was about the gun, and she said, "Merry Christmas".

You should watch the entire presser. The text and social messages by the mom that the DA read were shocking.

One from the mom said something like 'you should learn not to get caught".

Bad genes.

The teacher had a photo of the drawing on her phone. So they saw the, what should have been, alarming photo

Why didn't the school search his backpack?

Why isn't anybody questioning why the school would send him back to class?

I think the answer is, it's a standing policy to never send a kid home unless they have no other choice. School loses gov $$$ that way
