Is $20/hr the NEW (unofficial) Minimum Wage?

If you enjoy what you do then maybe it’s worth it. I don’t think I would like working fast food for 17. Maybe if I was a teen. So they need to pay more there to get people to work. Maybe look for something that pays more if you get tired of what you do. Maybe start your own tree business.

Problem as I see it is your generation are selfish and lazy and dont want to train anyone anymore. If it didn't benefit you directly you weren't interested . Now everyone just expects you to fall out of your mothers ass with 5 years experience .

I offered to work for FREE until they thought I was ready to go on the books , for a welding company , sign a liability waver so they werent responsible if Id got hurt and had 2 vehicles and a motorcycle so id get there no matter what and they turned it down cause they didnt want to train me .


everyone has a nice story because people actually trained you when you were a kid now youve all gotten fat and lazy and refuse to pass the knowledge on down ....

Whatever , I have no wife or kids and 17/hr gets me by and ill be bumped up to 22/hr soon and ill make it . Barely but ill make it .

I think people are done slaving away. Figuring out out to live with less and having more free time. Having a lot of stuff and big homes isn’t a top priority for many. Hanging out with friends and family or just yourself is.

We all have our methods. We adapt and use what works for us. Your way isn't necessarily everyone's way. We can read and study the most successful people ever and still not have it work. I think if we can strip away all the equation we just end up with do the work. It really is that simple.

30 years ago everything was easier and cheaper. I was there also.

It may be the new minimum people work for.

It's not how you destroy a currency. You do that buy printing new money into existence.

1 government borrows money
2 business borrows money
3 consumers borrow money

Each of those 3 prints money into existence.


Each of those are inflationary.

Higher wages are not. At least not in the destruction of the currency sense.

Higher wages doesn't create money out of nowhere. Higher wages are the result of the 3 listed above. The destruction already happened.

They offer people who don’t want to live the conventional way an option.

Yep....a local In and Out Burger near me is now offering $20 an hour to start! I saw a Jack in the Box with a $300 sign on bonus.

And that is why they will have to keep raising pay. Why work if you can’t afford a closet to live in?

The thing is anybody can work fast food but not many want to do it. So they have to pay people more or they walk.

It's all just MONOPOLY money anyway. If you look back in history you will find repeatedly when the minimum wages increase inflation goes up right along with them.

Now how silly is all of this? People demand a higher wage but when the achieve it costs for everything go up....where is the raise? All in our pathetic little minds.....and our masters continue their sinister laughs as they watch the show....

Unless you don’t die and get so sick from the jabs you can’t work. And can’t even get disability. That’s the nightmare for many now. Death would be great compared to that.

That's how the market determines the worth/wage of the worker, not some bureaucrat who has never worked a real job in their life...That's the reason there should be no minimum wage...

It was so much easier back then. They had full time with benefits then. And overtime. As a young 20 something I could have worked a regular full time job with no experience and had a cool studio apartment in downtown Orlando overlooking lake Eola. Jobs were plentiful. Rents were cheap. It was a fun time. No lib agenda. But things change and we roll with it.

Yeah I do agree with that. But even with minimum wage they are having to offer more to get people to work. And stay. So there is no minimum wage anymore.

here the minimum wage is working immigrants. there everywhere, there here to work for 6 months then they leave while a new batch arrives
