They are part of our family our pets and leave a big void when they go. Thinking of you, don't forget to bury a bit of Turkey in with your cat, I bet she was looking forward to Christmas too, don't deprive her of a bit of Turkey to take to her eternal home. |

She was a feral kitten that turned up in the yard, and oddly or predictably was never quite as tame as our other cats who didn't come from feral colonies. Quoting: Turtle Flower She was a little aggressive, okay, pretty aggressive, and didn't care for being loved on, and had some strange quirks. She was definitely the alpha around here, and the cat pecking order has changed in the last couple weeks since we lost her, ie., the cat world is a lot calmer. She would race me to the bathroom, and then try to block the toilet, lol, and although she seemed to want affection, it was as though it was too much for her, one pet was okay, more than two meant you were going to be bitten or scratched. We loved her, though, and in her last days she finally accepted the affection she couldn't accept in her lifetime. Rest in peace, Moonsocket, you were definitely one of a kind, and are missed terribly. I'm sorry for your loss. Losing a beloved pet hurts, I know the feeling! It's great that you're remembering the fun and beautiful times you had with her, that's how you honor her memory. Rest in peace, Moonsocket. We have a female cat that sounds similar. Ours will only let us pet us her occasionally. There's no way we could even catch her if she got sick. We got her as a kitten. She just gradually got more of a wild streak. She will come up to get petted, then something sets hers off & she runs. She fights with one of the males we have. We keep her because we know she'll get put down at the pound. (OP) User ID: 76176422 United States 12/24/2021 09:26 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Thank you everyone, y'all know how tough it is to lose a pet, and I appreciate the kind words We all wonder if we could've done better for our critters, but you guys have reminded me that she did have a good life with us. One of her quirks was that she'd just randomly start meowing when she was in a room alone by herself, and we'd go check on her to see what she was talking about, lol. The night after we buried her, hubby and I were laying in bed, and we both heard that sweet little meow. She had such an innocent sounding meow, totally different than her personality, and we felt that she was letting us know she was okay Last Edited by Turtle Flower on 12/24/2021 09:27 AM "In order to arrive at what you are not, You must go through the way in which you are not." -TS Eliot [link to www.turtlesvoice.com] Momma Said Write A Book About It - New novel [link to www.amazon.com (secure)] [link to www.facebook.com (secure)] |
