I remember watching a clip from them when they started out a few years ago.

I was impressed that they looked a lot like the original cast.
But it just lacked originality. Sort of like a Beatles tribute band.

Star Trek used to present a hopeful view of the future.

It seems this latest version of the show is more on the hope, and less on the gritty doom and gloom.

It is a bit of harmless diversion for the mind.

If you are happy to just dwell on the real world the misery as it unfolds, then by all means, just watch that full time.

I need a break every now and then.

Strange New Worlds is a completely different series. It's not Discovery

The character on SNW is Kirk's brother.

I didn't even notice.
Just saw that he was giving Earth's nuclear armagheddon as an example for the new planet of people that he was trying to save and have join the Federation.

I don't hit freeze frame and blow up what is on a screen in the show.

We may well have our nuclear Armagheddon in the near future if our government keeps pushin on the Putin.

I agree that the Dems have been blowing Jan 6 all out of proportion and that it was basically a trap they had set.

There are people that blow up the images on the original Star Trek and show a coffee stain on the carpet at the helm station on the Enterprise. I just try to enjoy the show. Don't care about coffee stains on the carpet. LOL.

Hell, the controls were all christmas lights set into hunks of cardboard.

Just interested in a good story. Heck, I got my entertainment from an AM radio when I worked on a farm one summer. No TV reception at the farm. They would read detective stories and horror stories on the radio in the evening, when the AM reception cleared up and it all happened in your imagination. Still very enjoyable.
