Let me help you OP since I went and did it.

1) The US taxes you on your worldwide income no matter where you are. You already know about FATCA I guess, check out the GILTI laws passed by, guess who, Donald Trump. So it doesn’t matter what country you go to, you’ll pay taxes.

2) There’s now an exit tax in case you’re thinking of renouncing, just so you know.

3) OK let’s say you renounced and you leave; a lot of people go to Panama because it’s a low tax jurisdiction. Some go to Uruguay. In Europe a lot of people like Albania. Screw Asia and Africa, sorry.

Asia is too repressive - the mindset is that the state is more valuable than the individual and it’s the opposite of liberty. Africa is just generally a crap hole.

I personally think South America is the way to go - lots of cheap land, decent weather, usually longer growing seasons and they honestly respect personal liberties a great deal. If you get into a sticky situation you can usually pay your way out too.

Downside: you better speak fluent Spanish, and just get used fo living without a lot of the things you’re used to in the US.
