When I was a kid we had to leave our guns and ammo in the office until after classes .
We could wear a knife on our belts as long as the blades were eight inches or less and most of us boys did .
It was the same in high school as it was in elementary school . Never had a shooting or a stabbing but fist fights were very commonplace .
