I’m all seriousness before I bought my truck I ran hankooks on my WRX, heavy rain state and they performed great. “When you’re dead you’re dead, but you’re not quite so dead if you contribute something” -John Dunsworth |

I had thought they were Chinese but they are South Korean. Quoting: Hoseman Hankook lasting quality and good price. Made in Korea. Michelin also lasting quality , generally higher priced. Possibly made in USA. Had both. Many more Michelin, than Hankook. But Id not overlook Hankook if they were similar but cheaper. |

Got about half the lifespan as I should have and trying to get warranty credit was like pulling teeth. So now I'm done with them. Just put 2 sets of Continentals on our vehicles, 20k in and wearing really good. Rotating every 5-8k when oil gets changed. Had Coopers on an 07 Accord and they were pretty good too. |

Never been a fan of Hancock's since I don't think in the real world they are nearly as good. One vehicle of mine has Michelins on it and WOW ... two of those tires have had to be replaced under warranty because the rubber in them just disintegrated. Other vehicle has Pirelli's on it, which I ordered in after a GREAT experience with them on another vehicle I owned. Tire Rack rates the ones I got near the top in the various categories of usage - and while other tires may be better in one realm or another across ALL driving realms (snow, ice, rain, noise, wear, ride, etc. etc.) nothing was as good. Go out and look at Tire Rack's ratings, they do a really really good job at testing all the various brands and models. (fwiw my newer Pirelli's are the "Scorpion" love em, kept me out of a sandwich accident in the rain on the expressway in rush hour about a month ago, other cars got sandwiched in that event and I did NOT - that alone PAID for their extra cost) |

Many people go to the Hankooks from the Michelins and are happy with them. If it were me I would buy Hankooks. Michelins are way to pricy for me. Personally, I drive less than 5K miles a year so last tires I bought three years ago were Ironman. Cheap ass tire but it actually rides very good on the highway and I have plenty of tread left even though they are about a 20K tire. But as I work at a dealership they are rotated regularly and proper air pressure maintained and regular alignments, needed or not. It's quick and easy. I have a 150K mile car so why put expensive tires on for driving an average of 5 miles a day? LOL |
