Because of fracking and oil sands extraction technologies, the US alone has a KNOWN ~200 years of crude oil. Also the US has over 100,000 years of natural gas from current KNOWN sources. These numbers include the current rate of population growth. Leases are being stopped for the main reason to NOT discover any new oil or natural gas pockets which would add to the debate for no reason to not extract fossil fuels domestically. |

So what is preventing the oil storage facilities from transporting the oil to the refineries... Pipelines are closed down... California will only allow newer trucks to transport oil... We have less refineries, in the USA, than we had 20 years ago and we are not building new ones. Yet, demand keeps increasing... The Biden Administration is causing this oil gas scam by preventing oil from reaching the refineries. They want oil and gas prices to go even higher to promote their green new deal... Remember when the Trump Administration eased regulations and increased oil drilling. Prices here in Oklahoma went down to 99 cents a gallon... Yes, oil and natural gas prices are Global. Europe is cutting Russian oil and gas to further increase the problem... To increase production, transportation, and refining should be a very real goal to decrease oil prices and bring down inflation and a stagnating economy... |

No, you can still have supply as usual, but the cost go up due to inflation. We are on the verge of hyper inflation. All that printing money has consequences. However one must consider that at $8/ per gallon price includes state and federal taxes, refining, transport, storage, retail markups. etc. into that price. So trying to make it reflect crude oil prices is both impossible and corrupts the truth of your main point. |

A barrel of crude undergoes refinement which turns it into ~1200 gallons at the gas station pump. The contract for guaranteed delivery of a barrel of crude in July specifies a bidding price of $120ish. If you skip the contract, you may be able to purchase the barrel for more or less in July. In fact, the ability to trade oil futures creates additional liquidity. |
