Escaping from said vehicle, still evading police/arrest while wearing a SKI MASK (in summer?).....

The police had every reason to shoot in this instance.
The perpetrator had committed felonies right in front of them and was evading/resisting arrest.
The perp was believed to be extremely dangerous and armed as witnessed by the police as he shot at them from his vehicle.
The police had every reason to believe that at the time the perp was attempting to escape on foot:
1. He was armed and dangerous and already exhibited a willing desire to shoot/kill police officers.
2. He was armed and dangerous and to not stop him and allow him to disappear into the surrounding community would put the community at great bodily harm. A perp in a ski mask who is armed (as they believed due to him shooting at them), who is running at large in the community could have shot and killed any number of innocent civilians who happened to be in his path. To NOT stop the perp would be an unthinkable act of negligence regarding the safety of the community.

Way too many!! It was completely unnecessary and over the top in its brutality. I do understand that each cop is trained not to hesitate when you believe your life is on the line especially when evidence of an armed perp shooting at you is clearly defined, and that they all acted virtually simultaneously, in seconds, each acting independently.

But too many shots. Too brutal. Yet even if only a couple cops responded, the perp would not be any less dead today, and it would be due to his own actions.

A sad and tragic end and I feel for his family.

So why was he wearing the ski mask? Was his burgling someone?

What is the difference if he got shot 8 times in the head or 60?
