Yesterday evening in Georgia border state of western NC, a lightening strike ignited a tree that set the second floor of a dorm building at Warren Wilson college on fire.
Mostly unoccupied for summer, so no injuries and fire dept snuffed it out quickly.
I live in same NC county and had massive simultaneous thunderboom and bolt strike about a block from me.

Highly charged TS clouds that came on suddenly with brief intense downpours, was the order of this weather alert active day.

Also a caver, and lightening strikes are piezoelectricly drawn up to a mile into caves where they sometimes blow stalagtites off cave ceilings and even cause cave-ins due to ignited bat quano (nitrate fertilizer) explosions.

When taking refuge from a lightening storm, a shallow cave -spark plug gap- is a really bad idea, ranking only slightly better than a golf course or beneath a tree.

GGS have this same essential 'spark plug gap' above ground, so far more strike prone IMO.

I hope to God that He is who partially blasted the Guide Stones to bits.
