Guys, sigh......My Mom's health is failing so we were going to do one last amazing trip to Italy.
We booked everything. We were taking the Queen Mary 2 over to England then on to Italy..
We sent our bags to the ship. I had everything arranged for us, tons of note and numbers and crap in case she dies while traveling. got hooked up with a therapist for when I'm in grief. great

We fly into NY yesterday to stay overnight and catch the ship this AM. I was going out to dinner with my dad, my brother (who lives here) was going to eat with Mom. I went downstairs to wait for my Daddy Uber, and my Mom calls FREAKING out that my brother (who is an AC here on GLP) was talking gibberish. she texted him...gibberish. Well, he was having a major STROKE!!! It had started the night before. no one knew because he is a hermit (hence GLP AC). We got 911 there, they got him to the hospital. too late for clot busting drugs, had to do some surgery thing to suck the blood clot out of his brain.
He is paralized on his right side and his speech is totally fucked.

I had to go to his house to find paperwork I am his proxy/POA. My parents are still alive, my mother is freaking out. Oh, my parents also hate each other, and my brother and dad havent spoken in about 20 years. So, yay me!

He is a HUGE risk of another stroke this whole week, and I (thankfully) found his DNR. Fuck My Life right now. It's just me a him. neither one of us reproduced. And I'm just so sad.

And , NO HE DIDN'T GET VAXXED ADN HE HAS NOT HAD A COVID INFECTION.

This is a family curse.

Jesus Christ that sucks. I am so sorry SC. What a fucking crazy week. What are you going to do at this point?

Well, I canceled all our trip stuff. Now, I have to manage care for my bro, deal with his finances, deal with all his crap. I don't see him ever being able to live on his own again. If he gets to the point where he can, I am thinking it will not be in his house, but in an assisted living situation. Which he will HATE. Trying to keep my mother from snooping around his house was a nightmare! This shit isn't supposed to happen until parents are dead!!!! I'm in a panic running around hiding all his weed stuff/ other stuff parents don't need to know about.

I'm super worried. Right now I am the only one that can really understand him and can communicate with him. I had expressive aphasia for 2 years and lingering effects still to this day from a car accident. So, I know whats going on in his head and how to get answers from him. Godess, I just can't believe this is happening.

Another interesting tidbit: He was on one of those big pharma cholesterol lowering drugs, you know, so you don't have a stroke? yeah, fuck THAT!!! I have been fighting them for years not to take that shit. "but, SC, You might have a stroke if you don't take these pills" They can fuck right off now! Clearly the pills are pharmacudical BS like the rest of it. Except for Claratin, I would die without that one!
