Anonymous Coward User ID: 75285037 Brazil 08/11/2022 04:42 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Why the fuck are people planning to leave if shit goes down? Quoting: Anonymous Coward 83932009 If you don't have anything worth staying for, just bug out now. Tactical soyboys larping hard until shit gets bad. Are you really thinking? Why would anyone leave comfort unless they had to? This is preparing for the day that ends, were you asleep during Canada’s rise up? Did you see the police beat the crap out of unarmed Canadians? You have a choice, do what’s right for you! :) That AC obviously hasn't seen the floods or wild fires that are forcing people to leave their homes. Having a backup plan isn't about larping. It's about being responsible for yourself and possibly your loved ones. When something bad happens in your life, don't just assume that you can rely on the charity of others or the government to save you from your irresponsibility. I get why people mock people for bug out bags, though. For the scenarios people think they are planning, the bags' contents are often laughably insufficient. More importantly, such people tend to think the bags' contents are a substitute for skills, training. If they had to use them for more than a few days, they'd be in for a rude awakening. I prefer 'get home bag' over 'bug out bag'. Like the OP I have a trailer in the woods, and if I had to hoof it, I'd be in the 'get home' mindset - to my backup home. I expect the OP has done as I have -- Fortify that trailer with supplies that will sustain me for weeks or months. Just make sure you have your food items in thick metal containers so the critters don't come for them! |

Everything is in categorized zip lock bags. Eg - lighters, matches, fire starters. Quoting: -Kate- [imgur] [link to imgur.com (secure)] As far as my list of things, I just watched lots of bug out bag videos and picked what I thought I’d want. If I were you I wild ditch the packaging most of that stuff came in to help cut down on weight. A small day pack to go with your larger pack is a good idea, with the barest survival essentials. You can leave the larger pack at base camp, or hidden in a safe location and use the day pack for short foraging forays or scouting a couple hours in each direction from it. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 82237921 Right now my neighbour to the north lost her husband to a heart attack, she needs a hand or will wind up in the old folks home. Mom and I are helping how we can. My neighbour to the west has gotten a heart condition murmers. On some heavy meds with bad side effects. Neighbour to the east has legs so swollen he can barely move. His yard that was always tidy is a mess. I dont have time to help them all. They are all vaxxed. The guy to the east knew about the problems with the vaxx but caved when travel was taken away from him. Lots of work. Friends and family are vaxxed. Many are starting to realize the truth and are in denial or affraid. I did what I could to warn them some even to the point of effecting our relationship. Even so, now I feel I should have done more... some blame me for not doing more. I understand its coping mechanisms for grief. Really down today but thats just a feeling, Truth is found in the word and the end is certain by the victory of and in the Christ. Just want to encourage all believers that now is the time to become the beings that you were created to be. Anything is possible in the Lord and you were made for this time. I would fill a bag with bibles along with the preps. Oil for the lamp and press the word upon upon the heart sharper than any blade as this is all that matters. Some of them I thought were nice people before that, what a wake up call that was. I have YHWH. So much evil, especially in your own family. Fake wisdom, fake kindness, fake ppl everywhere. All they want is you to suffer but they act like they are good. Be very careful. Last Edited by CopyNinja1987 on 08/11/2022 04:51 PM |

User ID: 76388104 United States 08/11/2022 04:55 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Hi Kate! Well, then, you have to fit a boat in there. I packed a bug-out-bag years ago. Of course, I never had to use it. I just went through the contents last week after all these years. Batteries are corroded, and the Chemlight Tactical Lights say "expired 3/14." I used the radio once....during Hurricane Sandy in 2012 when all other lines of communication weren't available. It came in handy. I was glad to have it. I sent one to my daughter in Florida...it might come in handy during a hurricane. I hope you fix up your bag up Nutmeg! I remember our days we talked preps lots on here, I had to start over on my own. It is good if we don’t need some things we prepped, but with prices going up, it’s still smart to do because people are getting poorer, and that brings on desperation by itself, more crime. To me that’s the least we can expect to happen, it’s happening already. My camper is my boat (Arc) :) I bought in 2020 for a bug out if needed. I knew things were going to get bad, just by listening to those in charge today. I saw the Evil from the start. It's nice you have a camper. You're right....I probably purchased and prepared my bug-out bag when there was much discussion here on glp about preps. I just have not had the need for it and probably never will. Online they survey your thoughts, which is why net online. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 73802620 Also, maybe it would be wise to NOT post your picture on accounts where you reveal such information? (firearms ownership, etc. - Especially in Canada. LOL) Don't get me wrong - If I were as pretty as you I'd want to post my picture too. :P But maybe not the best opsec. Have you considered adding some contractor grade trash bags? Make an improvised bivvy, can stuff them with materials for insulation or as a pillow. Can be used as shelter, keep rain off. Also consider... -stuffable hard shell jacket / windbreaker. Oversized so you can stuff it with dry leaves / grass for insulation if needed. And keeps the rain off. -throwing in a baofeng radio. And maybe a battery pack for your cell phone. (looks like you might already have that) -storm proof matches? you probably have them; I just didn't notice them in the picture. -write in the rain notebook and pencil or space pen. -hat & sunglasses -extra socks and underwear -zip lock bags for keeping things organized and dry-ish -personal wipes for hygiene -add on pack with winter clothes and other items - These bags tend to sit for months unmaintained. If we are into autumn or winter it'd be nice to have such things handy. Thank you!! First off, I’m a licensed firearms owner, I took my PAL in 2020. And I’m taking my RPAL Aug 26 so I can purchase a hand gun for sport shooting at the range. I love hunting, my ex and son were big hunters, we made such good sausage at our store back in the day. And I made great stir fry from Ruffed grouse. This is what I’m getting back into! I like guns, they’re great tools, that I respect. I’m in training, which I’m used to, when I got into mining, I was as green as they come, but today, I drive 830E haul trucks like I’m breathing :), challenges are good for us, it’s keeps a mind sharp, keeps the adrenaline pumping. Since all of this has happened in my life, I feel pretty independent. I don’t fear people at all either anymore after all my challenges where I rose to the occasion and succeeded. Here’s a little story from my beginning on my own. When I got into mining, they started me on a wiggle wagon, and for the life of me, I could not back that thing up to a hoe straight and was literally pissing off the hoe operator. On my break, I got out on the deck, talked to YHWH, and said, “if I’m in over my head, not doing what you want me to do, please take it away and guide me to where I’m supposed to be”. That was my prayer. After that break, that truck was straight every single time, for real! And I’m still in mining today, a job that challenges me all the time! It also gives me a good income. I am so thankful to YHWH for everything He’s done in my life. I’m never alone, nor afraid, even if I had to face death today. All those clothes you mentioned, they’re at the bottom of my bag in plastic. Safety First! Grilled into us in mining, transferable mind set to gun ownership. |

I really miss all the backpacking I used to do when I was younger. I also took college level survival courses where we would practice in the wilderness. I started backpacking when I was 7 years old. We would go to old mining camps up in the Eastern Sierras, and hunt for antiques (1960s). We didn't have a lot of money, so we bought equipment at Army Surplus stores, and made our own lightweight foods. We always drank stream water, and never got sick. I would recommend a good lightweight bowsaw over an ax. I would also recommend a super light 22 rifle. You only need single shot for squirrels, because you only get one shot, and then they're gone if you miss. I would also recommend a high quality straight blade stout knife over a folding knife. I worked as a forester back in the 1980s, and I prefer paper maps over electronics with batteries. I always try and avoid anything that uses batteries, because they don't hold up under rough conditions. |

It’s being winterized right now. Bugging in is my first. If that fails, I’ll grab my bug out bag and get to my camper. Most food preps will be at the camper. Ive met people on a prep site and then those close to where I live formed our own group and are talking about things. Everything is pointing to this Fall. I’ve been prepping hard since June. Smart and pretty. Your man is fortunate. Rodent Proof containers, rodents will get into ANYTHING that isn't a metal container: Quoting: Anonymous Coward 77374864 Popcorn Tins, the oversized Tin Cans they sell popcorn in at Christmas!! Lightweight and CHEAP to get just after Christmas, and DO keep the rodents out. Downside ... because of how they are made they are NOT generally waterproof, so anything you place in them HAVE to be bagged. Use TRASH COMACTOR BAGS for the bags to put stuff into (not food unless the food is further bagged in a food safe material). Super thick and not easily torn. (I also use Trash Compactor Bags for stuff in my backpack) We can always get better things, agree with that, but my buckets will be in my camper, with me. I have some traps in it. For now my food is at home here, if I see signs that things are getting bad, I’ll load up my food and take it to the camper. I’ve also stored up some extra fuel. I’m all over the place in prepping. You won’t have “time” ro pack up anything when it happens. Just an fyi. |

In his poem Human Pride, Marx admits that his aim is not to improve the world, reform or revolutionize it, but simply to ruin it and enjoy it being ruined: With disdain I will throw my gauntlet full in the face of the world, And see the collapse of this pygmy giant whose fall will not stifle my ardor. Then will I wander godlike and victorious through the ruins of the world And, giving my words an active force, I will feel equal to the Creator. “Looking for consciousness in the brain is like looking in the radio for the announcer.” – Nasseim Haramein, Director of Research for the Resonance Project |
