Quoting: Anonymous Coward 84000957 because they want your houses, that's the whole point. this is a military operaton, the purpose of a military operation is to murder you and take your property. thus the voices telling you to 'bug out' and leave your house. that is the absolute worst strategy, to leave a place YOU KNOW strategicly , and they dont and go somewhere you DON"T KNOW the surroundings and THEY DO know the surroundings What usually happens during a riot, they light things on fire, pretty quick too. They can have my apartment, I’m renting. Glad I didn’t buy a house today that would have carried a mortgage. Schwab and his puppets would have stolen it from me. Or made me get jabbed to keep it. What does “Build Back Better” mean? To me it says from the ashes, they have to break everything to fix it, getting out of the way is something people need to think about. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 72665638 United States 08/11/2022 03:42 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Bicycle with Tag-A-Long trailer. (with repair kits for tires and spare tubes for BOTH!) Quoting: Anonymous Coward 77374864 One can cover 10 - 15 miles per day with a backpack walking. One can cover 100 miles per day by bicycle (up to 150 actually), particularly if you can put your gear in a Tag-A-Long. Recommendation ... FIRST ... Set up your bag as a back packing trip, and actually try it out on a backpacking trip. AFTER you get that resolved to your satisfaction (what carrying and weight) THEN and ONLY THEN add the extra stuff you think you need for bugging out with the ADDITIONAL WEIGHT of everything you add staying at the top of your mind. (I always carry a VERY small transistor radio with SW even backpacking fwiw) Need advice in that regards ... forget prepper sites, and most recommendations here, they will overload you with CRAP, go look at backpacking sites to see how people actuall pack to be hiking or going into the wilderness for a few weeks on end with only limited resupply (ie: the only resupply being food if even that). The ONE area imo you want to be beefy on though is FIRST AID. Even when solo backpacking I carry an extensive first aid kit since in many years of being in the wilderness I have seen some pretty horrendous medical issues arise. You HAVE to be prepared for very serious medical situations, those are LIFE AND DEATH matters .. and 911 and an ambulance will NOT be available (as it is NOT on multi week deep wilderness trips into the north country in Canada). Broken Bones and deep cuts needing suturing and antibiotic treatment HAPPEN OFTEN! Be ready for them! Since you have a camper some of the bulkier items, heavier items, and LONG TERM items needed (ie: anti-biotics, more food, MORE water purification, MORE rain gear, COLD weather gear, MORE footwear, etc). can be placed in the camper. BE SURE to have a key for getting into the camper HIDDEN SOMEWHERE outside the camper. Be a real PITA to get there and have to break things to get inside. Make sure the camper's propane bottles are filled and maybe get something like a SOLO stove (or clone) so you can cook food efficiently with just small pieces of wood when the propane runs out. A couple of solar panels at the camper that can recharge AA or AAA batteries if nothing else would be good too (flashlights/radios/etc.) Sir Tidbits, aka Lance, turned me on to the little grizzly stove. I really want to get one..... It's been in the back of my mind ever since he suggested it. THAT’S what I’m having installed in my camper!!!! :) I did lots of research on those grizzly’s. Yep! They look like they are bomb proof. I love the compact design. I really want one for my tiny home, even if I don't set it up right away, just to have on hand. If the electric goes out, I can still heat my home and use it to cook. I currently rely on a little electric heater and I won't lie....it works, but when it hits below zero outside, It struggles to maintain consistent adequate temperatures inside. |

User ID: 80193276 United States 08/11/2022 04:12 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Cudos to the OP. Between the bugout bag, the camper, and maybe having an underground mine to shelter in, she is way better prepared than most. A few knife options I would suggest are: the Matt Graham Condor Primitive knife, or one of the value priced yet durable Schrade Extreme survival series. They have made a few pretty stout knives, but they are a bit on the heavy side. Matt's knife is a reasonable weight. For a lighter blade, a Mora is a decent option, but you won't be processing wood with it. A hunting knife with leather washer stacked handles is nice and light, and almost a work of art, but if you intend to abuse it by processing wood (batoning), you need a full tank. The rat tail tang in stacked washer type is not strong enough. Insect repellent! And maybe a head net. If you are in skeet er or biting fly country, these can be a huge lifesaver. A folding saw or a break down Buck saw is a more weight efficient wood cutter than a hand hatchet. A 2 handed light weight axe might still be something worth having, but you need it to have the 2 hand handle. Gransfor's Bruks small forest axe, Or Consol makes a cheaper version called a boy's axe I believe. The Estwing 2 handed camp axe is also a decent option. For sharpening, I prefer just a croc stick, but just my preference. Water is a big deal. Having a robust proven camp water filter 0.2 micron is best. Having some steel containers to boil water for disinfection, and or some Iodine tabs or Aquapure tabs not a bad backup. For sleeping, if you are sleeping just from your bag, I would suggest a Military Goretex Bivvy sack, plus whatever sleeping bag works for your climate. Down south, a hammock with insect screen would be prefereable to a tent. Too many bugs on the ground. A military poncho will keep you and your pack dry. But up North, The cold air under a hammock would be hard to handle. So a tent on the ground would likely be preferred. A .22LR target Pistol by Browning or The Stainless steel Neos by Beretta, or a Ruger version. 100 rounds of ammo, small bottle of gun oil, some patches and a cleaning rod. Extra mag. A couple traps, like a Conibear and a couple premade snares. Fishing kit, like a few dry flies, some barbed bait hooks, a couple treble hooks a couple lures, and some fishing line. You can always rig up a makeshift pole, no use lugging that around. A small gill net if you are around water. A few simple lock picks and tensioners might be useful and weigh very little. Head lamp, mirror for signalling and treating eye injuries. Eyewash cup and a bottle of eyewash, or some boric acid mix. Electrolyte replacement powder, Benadryl pills for stings, allergies, etc, Salt, Iodine, Vit pills, MegaMinerals pills. Tarred bankline is a compact cordage that is very versatile, and more compact than Paracord or other nylon ropes. A small AM/FM/SHortwave radio. County Comm sold a popular one. An ACR PLB EPIRB is a good way to signal for help if civilization still is doing rescues. Ferrocerium rod for fire starting. Maybe a survival candle in a 3 or 4 oz screw top aluminum container. Multitool - Leatherman Rebar, or maybe a Wingman are both lighwight and capable. Swisstool SpiritX another option. A jeweler's loupe is lightwight and can help you remove splinters if you also carry a small needle, tweezers, etc. Not sure what use a set of swiss files offers in a bugout situation, but they are small and light. Not an issue. A curved repair needle is a good idea, and maybe a hot melt gluestick that you can heat over a fire and make glue repairs or affix parts with glue. A good oil filled compass. A printed topo map of the area. For a binocular, I would recommend the Leupold 6 or 8 X lightweight Porro Prism model they sell to Bird watchers. They are half the weight of my pricy offshort binoculars and give superb clearity. I suppose a monocular might make sense, but I have never found one of a quality that I am even remotely OK with. Datrex lifeboat rations are the best and most compact long life survival ration there is. I would not bother packing freeze dried noodle dishes. Either carry food or don't. A pouch of noodles barely qualifies as food. A can of Corned beef hash would be preferable plus the occasional possom or rabbit or groundhog, or whatever you nail with the traps. Some Celox blood stopper, a SWAT tourniquet and some Israeli bandages will help out in the event of a major injury. They sell a tiny plastic bottle of Betadine that might be worth carrying. A small bottle of isopropyl acohol or some sting aid wipes for insect stings. Duct tape applied early can prevent blisters from hiking. As can moleskin or possible an alum crystal. SOme paracord is still useful to replace broken boot laces, or for use where more strength is needed. A roll up solar panel for keeping your cell phone in operation. You can download google maps for offline use on your smart phone. It will stay there for about a month. Download wild foods and herbal remedies recognition files to your phone. Along with the SAS survival guide and maybe a medical reference text. Washrag, towel, soap, toothbrush, dental floss. small toothpaste. Hat, gloves, buff neck/face comfort item. Pen, paper, Preferable a space pen and write in the rain notebook. A comb, Manicuring scissors, (an ingrown toenail can lay the mightiest warrior low).
