Although not as strong as Florida, I wouldn't be surprised with anything about this storm. |

User ID: 79267566 United States 09/29/2022 05:52 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | My youngest brother and his family in Englewood are OK. His house got roof damage, and he has some water damage and debris inside, but not too bad. He is hunkering down, has a generator with extra fuel, stacks of cases of bottled water, and embraces the 2nd amendment. He is calling his insurance today. Quoting: tiger1 I don't understand. Wasn't that city a direct hit with 10+ ft storm surge? His subdivision, which is newer, is built up about 10-12ft higher than the surrounding homes. The water damage and the debris in his home, are from the roof being damaged. He was high enough not to get the surge. Praise God from Whom all Blessings flow !!! |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 84280726 This will still be a strong tropical storm when it gets to Orlando. Somewhere between a Cat 1 or TS, as of current forecast. Reassuring her it will be mostly flooding, wind and a possible tornado. It will still be a wild ride, and Canadians are unaccustomed to our wild Gulf Coast weather systems. I'll be praying for her safety and calm nerves and ability to make it thru as well, for her and All she is with. May they be under an Umbrella of Protection! I'm sure you have communicated with her by now. Hopefully she held up ok as it was passing thru. My friends and extended family that live in the path are without power but otherwise in good shape. Very reminiscent of Hurricane Katrina, just not the 30ft storm surge we got then. "Real Love" Is the Glue that Binds Everything together. User ID: 79267566 United States 09/29/2022 08:32 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | My brother said a lot of people got it a lot worse than him. He is in a newer subdivision that was higher than the rest of the community. There is no utilities operational, according to him. He has a generator. Sorry I don't have any more info, but I only talked to my brother briefly, as he had a lot of cleanup to do. The old oak trees on his property got knocked down. He has to get someone to remove them, but in the meantime, wood, insulation, and other debris has to be picked up. He said the whole area is a mess. Praise God from Whom all Blessings flow !!! |
