Did you not see where I cited that earlier as an example? But it's never been officially categorized as a coup.

OK, I do believe the operative and applicable word from my title is 'Only' and that is because on the history books (always written by the victors, ya' know) that's how it is recorded.

All the others prior to 1898 and afterwards have never been coined as coups.

Yes! about the Ivory Coast. it's implications were/are profound. The upper middle class of men during that time were Bastards. no other way to describe them. Territory and Naval Prizes. Here is what most folks would deem a somewhat credible source saying 'only successful' in our country's history.
