I think you are vastly overestimating the importance of red states. Other than Texas, they have little to offer and dwindling populations will only exacerbate the situation. They have been a net drain on the economy for years and will not be able to survive without the resources and dollars that they get from blue state population centers.

Just some fun facts for you folks..
If Texas was to secede, and it would need to be Texas as they are the 9th largest economy in the world alone, 10 other states would immediately join them. The city of Houston brings 80% of the United States imports to the country alone. The city of Houston also exports more energy and goods and services to the world than any other hub including Long Beach CA.
It’s considered the largest energy exporter in the world.
PanTex in in Texas. It’s where almost all nuclear weapons are re processed or decommissioned. I think Bangor Maine does some nuclear subs….
Texas also has the largest national guard, the largest army and air force bases, and the largest militia group in the USA.

Here’s the downside.
Texas and it’s accompanying states would IMMEDIATELY be embroiled in a massive war with not the other states, but the drug cartels, who are operated by….yeah… the CIA. So you would be fighting a war against the very enemy you seceded from but many wouldn’t necessarily realize it.
And those cartels are very organized, well funded and para military.
Texas would be a paradise for CIA if they could reconquer it under the guise of the cartels.

If every state secedes, there is no more US debt. Any foreign bond holders will not have any claim in foreign courts because the US does not exist.

The states could convene to create a new, limited government and ensure that all leftover former federal assets are used to fund the new limited government.

There are about as many people in the Blue areas of this maps as there are in the red areas.
Do you understand how fragile a city is and how dependent urban areas are on outside areas? No. Because you are an r-orientated herd animal. There will always be more grass. That is what "more" means.

Any burden the blue areas impose on the red is entirely caused by deatbeats .. But deal - Lets allow open borders between the two areas. The cities provide the safety nets and the rural areas don't. That should ensure that all of the deadbeats who rely on the work of others to survive are in one place.
