Do we live in a simulation? The problem with this mind-bending hypothesis.
This is Definitely Mind Bending Stuff! I Do Believe We Do Live in a Simulation! What You Think GLP?

"You know, the Matrix.

Once our descendants build such a computer, they will inevitably create countless simulated beings — just try to count how many creatures in video games have appeared and disappeared since we first developed the technology. Very quickly, the number of simulated conscious brains living in a computer will vastly outnumber the organic brains living in the real universe. If this ends up happening, we are left with three possibilities:

1. Our descendants (or other intelligent beings in the universe) will never be able to develop the technological ability to faithfully simulate the cosmos.

2. Our descendants (or other intelligent beings in the universe) will develop the technology but choose not to simulate the cosmos.

3. The vast majority of all conscious entities, including you, are living in a simulation."

It may be possible to infuse spiritual and technological realms.
Obviously through means unknown to our current understanding of reality.

NPCs everywhere. Normally they leave me alone because I avoid them but they are still there. Like the Truman show say your back is hurting then you get in the car and hear 3 chiropractor commercial you never heard before. You been thinking about and said out loud need to go to the dentist and all these references keep popping up like radio billboards TV its insanely strange.

The people you talk to have the same stories all the time. Those who gesture everyday the same way. Suburban areas with thousands of homes you see maybe one or two cars per hour. No people walking around.

No cars one minute the next someone is riding your ass. Maybe its the law of attraction or maybe it is a simulation or worse case I am the NPC! Everyone else is real...

It would explain why we can have 50/50 split on politics. Makes no sense otherwise.

A simulation created by man has a power source.

We live in a simulation with an infinite power source borrowed from the future.

This is a common feeling people have like 99.9% of the time.
Very rarely does anyone consider the how.

If I had to break this down to some basic level of explaining it would be something like life is stuck in a temporal paradox most likely created to avert some cosmic cataclysm.
You could even tie the moon into it, the moon is very odd is it not? Far too perfect if you ask me...

School attacks in China (2010–12)
A series of uncoordinated mass stabbings, hammer attacks, and cleaver attacks in the People's Republic of China began in March 2010. The spate of attacks left at least 25 dead and some 115 injured. As most cases had no known motive, analysts have blamed mental health problems caused by rapid social change for the rise in these kinds of mass murder and murder-suicide incidents.[1]

As the Chenpeng school attack was followed by the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting in the United States hours later

Holy sheeeeit MITTENS! I was strolling thru memory lane and took a gander at your link! Quite an eye-opener right there! If anyone missed it, check it out!
-----------

Let's try this instead...

As a parallel to the fact that black project tech is way more advanced than even what Mittens is referring to, we are very possibly living in a simulated reality... generated either through the aid of advanced AI tech, alien tech, or simple God-given bio-tech (biological body-minds are "perception generators"). No matter how you slice it, if you really look at what's happening, this entire world ends up being solely in our minds.

So, if anyone wants to go down that rabbit hole, here are a few questions to stop and contemplate. If you do, you can get higher than being on shrooms without the depressing return to "reality".

Don't go down this rabbit hole if you consider yourself mentally or emotionally unstable in any way. You want to be in a nice, peaceful place before you venture here, else you could run into some trouble parsing "reality" as your commonly-held perceptions get challenged or you won't even be able to follow along.

Ready? Here are some good questions to challenge the entire "reality" construct you were born into that centers around that concept you call "I" or "me"...

1. Do you get to choose your thoughts?
2. If so, what will your next thought be?
3. Were you able to choose it, or did it simply arise out of nowhere and nothing?
4. If you don't generate your thoughts? Who/what does? Where do thoughts come from?
5. And to whom do the thoughts arise?
6. Who is this "I" or "me" you refer to when you talk about yourself?
7. Is it your body?
8. If so, how can that be you since the body is an object to you, and you are witness to it?
9. Can you be something that you are witnessing, or must you stand apart in order to witness it?
10. If you are your body, which body part are you?
11. If you lose your arms and legs in an explosion and are only a torso and a head, aren't you still you?
12. If a surgeon replaces your organs because they are failing, aren't you still you after the surgery, albeit with different organs?
13. Are you in your head?
13. If so, where? Just behind the eyes, somewhere in the brain?
14. If a neurosurgeon were to cut open your brain, where exactly would he find "you"?
15. What would that "you" look like? A little alien at the levers like in the Men in Black movie?
16. So, if there is no "you" in the body, where else can you look?
17. Perhaps you are your mind?
18. If you are your mind, which thought are you?
19. What happens when that thought disappears?
20. Do you disappear with that thought?
21. What's left over when that thought disappears?
22. Are you still there?
23. Are you still aware?
24. Perhaps you're what's left over when all else is taken away?
25. Perhaps that's the Spirit that fire cannot burn, water cannot wet, etc?
26. Perhaps that Spirit is nothing but your ordinary, everyday awareness that's always been "with" you? Or has it always actually *been* you?
27. Perhaps that ordinary, everyday awareness precedes thought and is witness to it?
28. Perhaps that awareness precedes the thought/concept known as time and is witness to it?
29. Perhaps that awareness precedes the thought/concept known as space, and is witness to it?
30. Perhaps that awareness is eternal (timeless), because there's no such thing as time outside of the thought or concept known as time?
31. Perhaps that awareness is infinite (boundless), because there's no such thing as space outside of the thought or concept known as space?

I hope you've enjoyed this little investigation into the nature of commonly-accepted reality. If you'd like to continue this exploration, let me know. We can continue to "inquire within."

I just came across an old book in the attic titled "The Book on the Taboo Against Knowing Who You Are" by Alan Watts, so I figured I'd challenge that taboo today.

And yes, this is Q-related when you consider "Deep Dream" references. We're all in one. And I believe that if people want to stand strong and courageously in what's coming, that they are going to need to learn to stand as (identify with) this awareness beyond the body-mind, because our so-called "reality" is likely going to get turned on its head in the not-too-distant future. This may be the only way to stay (or perhaps *get*) sane and out of fear.

If the above holds no interest for you, no problem. It's intended for only a handful of people on this thread who are curious about their identity beyond the limitations of the body-mind. I know there are a handful of you "innernauts" here.

Beautiful, stimulating, insightful, and thought provoking, all at the same time, and all contained within the "thing" which is the real ME.
 Quoting: Deplorableduckhunter

This is great! Similar to the Advaita Vedanta/Nonduality line of inquiry, which leads seekers to these conclusions:

- You are not your body -- NDE'ers confirm Consciousness continues after physical death
- You are not your thoughts/emotions -- they come and go
- The differentiated/separate "I" or reference point is an illusion
- The world of differentiated/separate forms is illusory
- NDE'ers report feeling like they are "all reference points"/"One With Everything" when out of the body
- A nondual, formless, Infinite Consciousness is all there is, all that's "real" -- and it has the potential to "pattern" into any form/create any illusion here

Re: Do we live in a simulation? The problem with this mind-bending hypothesis.
The game Elite Dangerous is a 1:1 scale recreation of the Milky Way galaxy. It is essentially a simulation of the reality of the 34 century. It’s been going on since 1984. It’s is populated by hundreds of billions of NPCs. Do they know they’re just a simulation? How will the game evolve? We are already creating simulations of reality.
