Yeah, this is a weird one. Arcturus?.....IDK There's always been Venus, and it gets a lot of attention for flashing at times but it's NEVER been that big. Neither has Jupiter. Would love to hear what Astro says.

It looks like Arcturus to me.
As somebody else mentioned download the skymap app to confirm.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 69132726

Venus does not flash. its a planet. and stars do not flash. atmosphere a
effects are only when the body being watched is near the horizon. Because the entire solar system is being moved and it becomes to a NEW location into an eternal light stream....
most of those stars are craft keeping your sky normal during the move.

This solar system was make by huge craft that drew globes of our sn off it into s0ace which became the heated cores of our planets.. and then the planets built up gradually from accumulation and such of space debri. and calcium to some degree from the sun which is a calcium generator and matter generator in general.

This is fact and I will not argue it.hf

Satellite would be one possibility.

You are looking West, just after sunset. The satellite is still in the Sun, bouncing the bright Sunlight to you. Colors shift due to the changing refraction through the atmosphere at different angles.

Mars?

So, not a star, but I think your question was - is this thing in the atmosphere or in space.

I have read some of your posts.

Based on that, I'm not entirely sure you know which direction West is.

Is the direction you are pointing your camera also the same direction you see the sun set?
