Limited time left on this planet so I watch the world burn all around me and I don't stress about it anymore. I will let the youth get all fired up about politics etc.

The most annoying thing is loosing my reflexes. Also I avoid late nights up town because I don't want trouble. I would rather stay local.

70 or older is a start.

Before that and you’re just practicing.

It's hard to say. Some old men prays and reads the Bible while others watch daytime TV.

Ok: Born prior to 1953. I was thinking 70 might be the start of old too. But I look at my in-laws 83 and 88 approx and they seem to not have aged.

They are doing it right and have been blessed with good genes which is a huge part of aging well.

Chronic conditions accelerate the aging process.

The 50 something’s just haven’t gotten far enough along to render a fair old man response. Mature yes, old no.

Describe what you think being ab old man is all about!! Do your best!
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 84525570

Define what you mean by old man...

I am 63, my father is 93, grand father died at 89, I lived with both.

Over 50, eye sight starts to go, and everything seems much harder work, you pee more often.

By 60 brain fog becomes noticeable memory starts failing, as does dexterity in the hands. Body becomes stiff.

If you get to 80, you've had a good innings, anything over that and quality of life is greatly reduced.

By 90, life pretty much sucks, probably better not getting that far.

I'm talking from both experience and close observation of ageing parents and grand parents all living to 90+.

It is great.

You dress up in old raincoats and go for walks where you know sexy women in their 30-40's hang-out....eventually you ask them for a hand. Sometimes you get more.

Helps if you have a big cock.

How old are we talking here?

I'm 65, and while I don't feel really old yet, I know I'm getting closer to really old.

One thing about being older is life's a lot more enjoyable now. I'm retired now. Retired in 2015. No money worries. No job to get up and go to. I live alone so all my time is mine now. I moved out into the countryside over 2 years ago and it's beautiful and peaceful out here. I no longer live by a calendar or clock. My days are typically 36 hours long now. I do as I please every day.

It is a challenge now to keep feeling young though. Exercise is more important now than ever before. I live in Minnesota and I have a driveway that's about 250 feet long. I shovel it by hand with a shovel. It can take me 4+ hours to shovel after 4-6 inches of light snow. I have 5 acres here and half of it I keep mowed. Was doing that with a push mower but I couldn't keep up during the spring. Bought a Kubota commercial mower last summer and now I can get it all done in 3 hours instead of taking all week with a push mower.

I have 16 cats I care for here. All were ferals that wandered out of the forest to my backdoor looking for food in the winter. All domesticated and living on my back balcony now. Costs $750+ a month to feed them all. I love them all though, but they are a lot of work. They help keep me feeling young. They keep the property cleared of mice.

I'm still pretty much the same person I was at 25, 35, 45, and 55. I still like rock, techno, dubstep, classical, soundscapes, etc. I have a lot of synth and midi gear and still like dabbling in creating some music and riffs and such. The Novation Circuit Tracks is one of my favorite toys.

I'm still healthy and I swear I have more stamina now than I've ever had in my life. I still occasionally drink. I don't smoke much weed anymore. Once a month I may lite up. I still play video games, bought a Nintendo Switch OLED recently because it's convenient to play anywhere.

My mind is still razor sharp. No issues with memory. I can still write software. Electronic and photography and music are my hobbies. I enjoy cooking but haven't done much lately as I once did. I no longer have a desire to travel (I use to travel a lot when I worked for an airlines). I have become a homebody now. I leave my property about one a month to resupply. I order most stuff online now.

I've started to collect PCP rifles. They'll come in handy when the SHTF and real ammo can no longer be purchased. Cheap to stock up on thousands of slugs. Most recent addition is a Seneca Wing Shot II Shotgun. It's .50 caliber and can fire slugs, shot shells, and bolts (arrows). Bought a high pressure compressor to keep them all filled.

I've no idea how long I'll live to be. I feel about the same as I did when I was 35, but I can feel that's slowly changing now.

Life is pretty stress free now that I'm retired. Every day I just do whatever I feel like doing. It's like being a kid again during summer vacation.

I had originally planned to do the RV lifestyle thang when I retired at the end of 2015. But after 4 years I decided I really wanted to settle into some place nice out in the countryside in the middle of a large forest when this COVID shit started. Moved here in the fall of 2020. Love it here. I'm at the end of a 3.5 mile long dead end road landlocked in the middle of a state forest managed wildlife reserve. Lots of wildlife here.

Been prepping for the worse yet to come. Been stocking up on various things. Hoping things don't get bad, but I'm at least staying ahead of inflation by stocking up on certain things like food and other consumables.

I've 3 offspring and 11 grandchildren that live within an hour of here. They enjoy coming here and hanging out in my RV in the summer. It's like their own private campgrounds here. It's a short 30 minute hike to the Mississippi river from here. Lots of deer, coyotes, and wolves here.

Anyhow .. 65 really isn't that old. I find it hard to believe I'm 65 now. I can still get out and do things like rollerblading, skiing, and more. But, I do realize that won't be possible for much longer. I'm suspecting that by the time I'm 70 I will probably want a plow on the front of my 4x4 to clear the snow away. But right now I still feel fantastic after spending 4 hours shoveling snow. I still get a pretty good adrenaline high after a good long workout.

I remain unvaxxed. I've not had the flu since 1991. My contact with the outside world is minimal. I pretty much like being alone by myself out here most of the time. I like being selfish with my time. I'm seldom bored. This COVID bullshit really hasn't effected my life much at all. The worst of it was having to wear a mask when all this started when going shopping. I don't worry about it and have taken no precautions against it other than keeping my hands away from my face when out to resupply once a month. And I do sterilize my hands after shopping and getting back to my vehicle. I don't worry about visitors that I know. And that's about all.

The dribble pissing will drive you fucking crazy.

If that doesn't do the trick, then the muscle seizures, reduction in memory and the long stretches of serious alone time should make you question how sane you remain.

Then, there are the regrets...the roads not taken...the stupid decisions that cost you time and money.

On the upside, you're out of time. Any upcoming moment could be your last, so you begin to treasure moments...even the ones that I've listed that can drive you crazy.

Prayer...repetitive prayer is a great equalizer in these last days. Take my word for it.
