If you have taken a lot of medication or ate a lot of toxic foods, those toxins are stored in the fatof your body. When you fast, your body ceases using glucose for energy and converts body fat into ketoins for energy. If you release all those toxins too quick, you could get deathly ill. Do at least three 3 day fasts before a long fast to remove some of the toxins. You should drink water,as this is one of the ways the body eliminates toxins; otherwise, your body will eliminate a lot through the skin in the form of rashes and boils. I suggest never go more than 2 days without water. 21 days is considered by most as a long fast; however, up to 40 days the body usually will not consume muscle protein. Unless you think your Christ, I would not recommend a 40 day fast,but rather seek a mental health professiona. You can live quite a while without food as long as you are not exposed to cold temperatures or great eertion. You can die not drinking water after 3 to 7 days. Best of luck. |
