Advice on water fasting? How long can I go without eating

If you have lots of weight, like in excess of 100lbs you go months.

The World Record is 382 days.

if you steep bacon and pork chops in the water, you can go weeks.

I’m young and relatively healthy. Not overweight. Just trying to detox and see what fasting does. Not doing it for weight loss.

Allegedly 3 weeks of no food and i think 7 with no water.

I’m just past 24 hours feeling it a bit. But can keep it out my mind is it gunna get worse. Did u do complete water fast for 3 weeks?

The first thing that is broken down and pissed out will be your muscle mass.

Then due to the lack of energy and low aerobic demands, your fat stores will not be converted until the easy muscle tissue is lost.

Eventually, some fat will be converted. But by then you will be hollowed out like the federal reserve.

Advice on killing yourself? I'll pass.

Most peoples can do a week. Hunger go away after 3 days apparently.

Your body will eat muscle tissue

The last muscle is the heart

After 20 days you can expect heart attacks

Dont do it longer than 5 days

You need water, and extra water . 4L a day total

Watch your urine, eyes if they yellow indicating liver issues

You need Kalium, Pottasium, Natrium, Magnesium

Without these you may end up badly



First time start with 3 days to 5 and dont overdo

Never do it for weightloss, you gain back more


1/3rd of fast time you need to build up eating normal real slow. No meat, no alcohol, no sugars

If you go on a 7 day water fast and do a party meal right after... You may need an EMT ... Just dont....


If you plan on switching to a veggie lifestyle or new diet, a fast is a good way to switch habits....


Talk to your dr and get blood tests on everything making sure you are healthy

If you have hidden disease do not fast

No black tea no coffee.. Green tea is ok

Do not over exercize or get out of hot baths fast.. You may faint... The minerals are essential

Think of broth right after fast and before eating meals. Skip carbs and do veggie and yoghurt only days after a water fast

E.g 5 days water fast and 5 days healthy feed, then switch to a permanent diet


After 3 days you start burning fat. Thats keto

First 3 days its just flushing out glycs

Also, great to have a fast right before shtf so you'll have less to buffer with.

Just make sure you have plenty of muscles in arms and legs before you start

Those will be eaten.... Your body on keto burns some fat and a lot of muscle. Totalling 1 pound a day.

Anything higher than 1 is just water

Oh and don't forget your electrolytes.

it gets waaay easier after the first 2 to 4 days

So much varying information. Lol this is why I just went for it. I don’t drink anything other then water anyways. No drugs or alcohol no caffeine. I think sugar and carbs is gunna be what hits me the most. I do have some supplements I’m taking already but that’s it other then water

I already take magnesium I’ll look into the others but I’m young way under 30 so I’m not to worried

Its better to do OMAD and get all your nutritions

Poor nutrition may cause all sorts of issues

Those who fast for 40 days in religion eat some veggies every day, like the muslims they used to eat healthy.. Nowadays they eat lots of sugar every breakfast. Its just a form of OMAD.
