Quoting: Rooster420 "airnow" shows all of the northeast in the red and from western to central NY in the purple (AirQualityIndex of 203, BAD)---> The primary pollutant being fine particulate matter with a width of less than 2.5 microns (PM2.5). This is unprecedented in this region. Anyone else experiencing the dense haze and the orange sun? The reflection the sun makes on the ground and other things is creepy AF. Below is a picture of the current AQI in the northeast region. [link to gispub.epa.gov (secure)] Hey OP, yes - I'm experiencing it here in Ulster NY. It's definitely creepy AF! Just got back from a quick ride into town. People are talking about it and they all seem to be on edge. When I was driving back, the local weather report came on the radio, and NOTHING mentioned abt the air quality (usually air quality is pristine here - one reason why I left NYShitty so many years ago). Not a peep. Sky is mustard yellow. When the smoke shifts, and you get a glimpse of the sun, it's an ominous bright red. o_0 I'm watching the animals - so far the birds are still chirping and the deer aren't making a run for it, but I'm awfully wigged out about this. Weird how no news whatsoever on the matter. But then again, perhaps not weird - given the state of the world these days. I have a feeling that they wouldn't give us a warning of impending doom as far as the fires go.... Thanks for the thread. Please keep this bumped!!! |

Same, I am seeing all animals acting relatively normal. Someone just was jogging down the street with 2 babies in a stroller. LOL.. Does not seem like many people know yet. After school activities were canceled today I just heard. At the job, we all work outside, except for me today. Nobody saying anything. The AQI started this morning at around 100, it is at 187 now and climbing. Utica to the west just hit 203 from around 125 this morning. It seems like its getting worse!!! Rooster |

There’s more important things to focus on, like everything Target is doing and Arnold Braunschweiger being an atheist. They’re all dead. They just don’t know it yet. |

Sun is out but very hazy grey sky. Looking across any distance you can see the haze in the air. The rating for this area in above link is BAD air quality. Next level up is hazardous. I’ve never seen anything like this before. Quite disturbing. afriendindeed |

User ID: 65415113 United States 06/06/2023 06:30 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Thread: live: NYC covered in smoke Smoke From Canada's Wildfires Is Streaming Into The Northeast, Causing Unhealthy Air [link to weather.com (secure)] "Unhealthy" air for New York City: Numerous locations from upstate New York to New York City reported air quality categorized as "unhealthy" (red dots below), by airnow.gov on Tuesday morning. Many other spots in the Northeast had air quality in the "unhealthy for sensitive groups" (orange dots below) category. This smoke is particularly bad for you and can cause coughing, shortness of breath, increased heart rate and other immediate effects, even in healthy people. It can also aggravate chronic heart and lung conditions, increase the risk of stroke and heart attack, damage vital organs and shorten a person’s lifespan. You can track the latest real-time air quality at this link. This smoke is different than the last few weeks. Wildfire smoke in the Northeast from the Canadian province of Alberta during the past few weeks was mainly aloft and didn't affect air quality much, but this situation is different since some of the smoke is traveling near the Earth's surface. The closer the smoke is to the ground the more of an impact it will have on air quality. You can see how expansive the smoke appeared on satellite in the image below from Tuesday morning. |

The liberal types do the same with evidence that proves them wrong. MlCHAEL |
