Grab a paperback book named "SOG" "The Secret Wars of America's Commandos in Vietnam". Roy's story starts on page 190. The book is full of other amazing stories of the Special Forces in Vietnam. They all deserve recognition, and our thanks.

Thanks, Pac. This is an incredible story of a great man fighting for his country. That war was pure hell for our men and the ones that were able to return got no thanks.

I hadn't heard of him either as many here. I think the only way that he will be remembered as he deserves to be is for a movie to be made of it.

Our schools won't teach it for sure and I doubt he will be in any history books.

I will never forget him or this story and will make sure my children know about it also.

Why do you think there are so many books, movies, TV shows, etc. about the brave American soldier? I understand your skepticism....perhaps before you make a blasphemous comparison between Benavidez and Jessica Lynch with a cavalier attitude, you should have done research, utilize the net and make a logical conclusion as to whether the facts portrayed in the video are with merit...You would have also known what kind of man Sgt Benavidez was..Not seeking any recognition, proud to be of service to his country, constantly deflecting praise and heaping it on his fallen comrades...doing his duty...
