did you know that something HOT coming out of the floor at that DEPTH is going to encounter a temperature differential so extreme = deep deep ocean... that the nature of the substance coming from the floor is going to morph instantly... giving you a kind of methane crack

Do you remember during the FIRST oil fiasco that there was evidence that it was shutting off the Gulf Stream - which happens to run along the East Coast on its' way to Europe? Am I the only one who sees a possible connection between that and the path of this hurricane (Irene)?

Sadly, there was a lot of evidence being presented here on GLP at the time that the "capping" of the well wasn't even taking place where the real spill was but at another well, and that there were widening cracks on the sea floor which were burping oil and methane. I seriously doubt that they EVER actually stopped the spill at all. So dismal to see this beautiul country destroyed so quickly and completely.

I have been on the coast and in nola area most of my life and not only has all that been fucked up they opened the spillway endangering the lake which now has few birds and lots of algae that is almost florescent THEN just down the road from our farm in the land of milk and honey the only industry.. the TEMPLE INLAND papermill dumps black shit in the PEARL RIVER threatening the HONEY ISLAND swamp so yeah I am a bit concerned about the water given our status and composition

In other words, the mud/oil volcano that is erupting in the Gulf is not - and never was - under control. The rig exploding and their subsequent keeping of the oil under the water and out of view was a way to try to cover up things until this rouge fails - as it is now.

Oil is again bubbling to the surface of the Gulf of Mexico near the epicenter of the 2010 Deepwater Horizon disaster. Reporters from Mobile, Alabama’s Press-Register loaded into a boat Tuesday to inspect the site. Equipped with cameras, the reporters discovered “hundreds of small, circular patches of oily sheen” within a mile of the well. “Floating in a boat near the well site, Press-Register reporters watched blobs of oil rise to the surface and bloom into iridescent yellow patches,” the paper reported Wednesday. “Those patches quickly expanded into rainbow sheens 4 to 5 feet across.” According to the Press-Register, “Each expanding bloom released a pronounced and pungent petroleum smell. Most of the oil was located in a patch about 50 yards wide and a quarter of a mile long.” Petroleum engineers are concerned that oil is leaking from the floor of the Gulf near the sealed well. (Oil trade groups: Drilling deregulation could create 190,000 jobs) Louisiana State University chemist Scott Miles conducted a chemical analysis of the oil to identify its “fingerprint.” Miles said that, “It is possible it could be [from the Deepwater Horizon well] . It’s south Louisiana crude for sure.” BP said in a statement to the Press-Register: “We stand by what we said last week, neither BP nor the Coast Guard has seen any scientific evidence that oil is leaking from the Macondo well, which was permanently sealed almost a year ago.”

My job in the pass was a submersible operator..I was a BOP stack inspector... I spent many of hours on the ocean floor a couple of thousand foot deep.. That was before they had R.O.V's..
