Riots started! same old, same old... we could have used the crisis to strengthen our country, re-inventing us, setting a new paradigm (via ecology, cashless s ociety via bartering system), free energy... but we prefer pointing fingers saying "its your fault", outsourcing thinking and action to parties, and people we deem "better" than us... we are a complex-ridden nation full of insecurities and nothing is going to change that... Greece was given it s chance many times now, but we prefered the status quo... whatever happens to us, we will deserve it, due to lack of action on our own... |

Riots started! Well, in Portugal we had the constitutional court telling that one of the austerity measure (to cut down the salaries) was unconstitutional, and what happened? Nothing.. Instead of cutting salaries they decided to raise taxes, and this way the cut will be even larger. Not to blow your hopes (if you still have any :P), but there is nothing we can do brother. Lets just hope the general strike on Nov 14th echoes in the rest of europe and not only our countries. |

Quoting: Sentenza Actually you have some truth there and i can say almost the same thing regarding my country. There is a lack of entrepeneurship, and a massive ammount of laziness. I see people rejecting work offers because they would receive less money than what they receive from the unemployment subsidy!! But hey, even though we have this southern way of living, we were pushed down the hole... maybe due to that exact fact, that we were weaker at the beginning, and any sort of economic pressure would devastate our countries. |

Quoting: Sentenza Some very good point raised there Sentenza, yes we people's are to equally to blame for supporting and voting the same corrupt mofos for 30 years. I don't think though that we could have used this crisis for something better on current terms, unfortunately this is far bigger than Greece now, we could have done something before the crisis started yes, it's too late now and the political system hasn't helped a bit, i mean ex-pm selling Greek debt cds to start the domino? That's super mega scandal inside job right there that you and i and all the average Greeks couldn't do anything to stop it, i don't think that some things you say are that simple, it's much more complicated than that. All according to plan imo. |

Riots started! Cheers Insert & Luis ! Thanks for the info on this thread ! Quoting: subzero86 What do you guys think, now that the US elections are over, is there anything keeping Greece from total collapse ? SZ86! I think that now that elections are over we'll start seeing the first domino's falling. Troika report coming is super-doom, not much have been done regarding reforms by the political system here, they were negotiating the new terms for 5 months now, don't think that anything can stop it from now on, only thing in question is if the collapse will be a controlled one or not. |

I hear ya bro, word unconstitutional doesn't mean much these days, show must go on and i personally don't have high hopes, i fully believe that austerity will pass. Have you seen the ad for the Nov 14th protest/strike? Has some gay bits in it if i remember correctly. |

The PSI and haircut on the Greek debt was considered a credit event and an orderly default. The disorderly default will be a default that no safety mechanisms measures will be in place that could lead to the cds triggering and the domino effect. Compare it with a controlled demolition of a building vs an uncontrolled one. |
