What is the Best State to Retire In?
Looking for a nice place to live with a low cost of living.

We are thinking about Florida or possibly Tennessee.

Need affordable housing because we don't want a mortgage and would like to pay cash.

Don't want to shovel snow either.

All suggestions will be appreciate.

I would just go rent again in a state you think you might like then. No way would I consider buying anywhere until you are definitely sure where you want to be permanent. Good luck.

Prescott AZ is nice. Stay away from Florida, too many bugs and chemicals to get rid of the bugs.
Tenn is a nice state.
Georgia away from cities would be ok.

Delaware (I know it sounds crazy) is second only to Florida in demographic of retirees due to targeted resources available to them such as public transportation and senior health care facilities for starters.
