Shep has been known to go a bit rouge or at least off subject before ...i believe it.

He was simply stating that the information he was passing along was a US military official's statement.

I know it sounds like he admitted that MSM is state run media, but it's simply not what he was saying. He was saying the info came straight from the military, and he wasn't making it up or paraphrasing.

People want to believe everything is a giant cover up. If anything happens to Shephard Smith let me know.

Until then, this is being mischaracterized, and is making some here look pretty thick.

I swear it's true!!! I couldn't believe it and backed it up to play it for my husband. Then the baby started crying so I hit pause so I could record it with my phone after putting her down for a nap. Came back and my DVR had switched over!! I have been with GLP for a long time. I do NOT post lies and stories or role play. If I post something. It's the truth!! My husband couldn't believe he said it either!!

Now here's the question. Was he just so incredulous that the air strikes were actually happening and said this statement to bolster Fox New's credibility about the breaking news, or was he trying to tell us something??!!

He ACTUALLY said this while reporting on the breaking news on US air strikes in Iraq. I hit pause so I could go back on my DVR and record it with my phone, but by the time I could get to it, my DVR switched over to another scheduled recording! Drat!!! So I have no proof. But I can tell you what he said!!

He was discussing the breaking news and the air strikes. He made a statement of fact and then qualified it by saying the following: "This isn't what fox news wants you to hear, this is what the government told us to tell you!!!"

I kid you not!!! He REALLY said this!!! Oh man!! I wish I could have gotten a recording of that like I tried to do with my phone!!! Unbelievable admission by FOX NEWS!!!

I have no doubt. I was gathering news weekly from around our region for a publication two or three years ago.

This is from a 4 state region.

It got very frustrating because they were all reporting the exact same news -- the exact same news -- each day. With enough local thrown in to make it look ok. They might have all been operating out of the same press room.

There are directives go out to the media from the central government, just like in China.

If he said it, you can bet it's true, he has always been a straight shooter! I hope someone can find the clip. Is his segments ever replayed like others later in the night?

Of all the talking head 'prompter jockies Shepherd Smith comes the closest to truly earning my respect.
Wouldn't it be awesomely ironic if a major American news anchor quit their job on air rather than continuing to regurgitate the government's propaganda? You know, like those RT anchors...?
Or perhaps the impact would be greater still if said anchor were forcibly retired for daring to break ranks with official positions. Such strong-armed tactics on the government's part might actually wake up some citizen sleepers to the reality of modern America.
