Jewish lightning? (I HIGHLY doubt there's such a thing as an uninsured building...)

I disagree. The building was not finished yet, and could not be appraised for insurance purposes until it was finished.

Bringing tears to my ears to hear what has happened - are you telling us on here out of camradery or do you think it might have been a targeted hit?

Re: My business burned down Sunday night. Looking for strength and prayers.
Thanks for the prayers and feedback, guys! The track hoe was here yesterday... the 65 yo good ol boy operator is an artist with that machine. Said he had been driving one since he was sixteen. Picking up fist-sized rocks with one tine and dropping them into the hole...

We now have a huge patch of fresh dirt about 100' around, and a big, filthy, empty concrete slab next to it... it is like a 2000 sq ft building was just erased.

I struggled through a short video yesterday, and we got it posted last night. Easier to get the word out that way than responding to a bunch of emails and phone calls (especially since the phone system burned up...)

 Quoting: Azaziah

What you said in that video is so right. So many times we get upset and down about bad days and set backs, but later we look back and say, "if that had not happened, I wouldn't be where I am today". It can be impossible to see the good that can come from such a devastating loss but just like you said in that video, you may be looking back at this from next year able to see improvements that wouldn't have happened if it weren't for this. Hang in there. You absolutely can come back from this and may even discover a benefit that can't be seen right now.

Going to have to talk the wife, but we may be future customers. Would love to able to support a fellow Tennessean and get gear for our hunting property at the same time.
"God forbid we should ever be 20 years without such a rebellion. The people cannot be all, & always, well informed... If they remain quiet under such misconceptions it is a lethargy, the forerunner of death to the public liberty... Let them take arms... What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots & tyrants. " - Thomas Jefferson in 1787

It might depend on what insurance company he has. Some are rather picky.
My youngest daughter bought another car in September, a newer used car. Her old car had just liability. She went right from the dealer to the insurance company to pay the insurance for her new car, which has full coverage, BTW. Under the insurance she had on the old beater, if anything happened to her new car BEFORE she got to the insurance office, all that would have been covered was the basic liability. So, if her new car got totaled on the way to the insurance company office, she would have lost all the money she paid for the new car.
Like I said, it depends on the insurance company.

Why didn't God blow-out the flames with His magic breath?

Question too difficult for ya;' bro'?

Surely the sky-goblin would help one of his followers?

Surely your cloud-imp would wave his hand and magically bring the rain to douse the flames of Satan?

Surely the invisible-fairy would blow his peppermint breath and blow-out the flames of Beelzebub?

No.....He never does.

Pretty ineffectual deity.

Not a bro.

This isn't about his religion, in case you couldn't tell.

Just about well-wishing for someone who took a hard hit.

But you come in here to bash his faith. I'm not a christian or anything close to it, but I'm not gonna come in here to talk shit about his beliefs.

Have some couth.

Good luck O/P.

While you are rebuilding, I'd suggest you look at your web site home page. It isn't terribly inviting. The products page would be a better place to land!

Re: My business burned down Sunday night. Looking for strength and prayers.
I wanted to buy a house a year ago but lost several thousand dollars with a small business which left me bewildered. I hired homeless and other needy guys who all turned out to be drunks or drug addicts. One burglarized my house and went to prison for something else later. Anyway, I have had to wait now to buy a home, and look what has happened - mortgage interest rates have fallen, and look to fall some more, with the result that I'll save far more over the life of a home loan than I lost with the business. And ----- the deep feelings and understandings arising out of what took place, as I handle them the proper way, allow me to approach my own challenges and the realities of other peoples' lives more realistically. It would appear sometimes that some of what we need to be useful to God and man in this life is not always realized without some pain and loss.

This is not INTENDED TO BE UNKIND, BUT IF YOU WERE MANUFACTURING, ASSEMBLING OR WHATEVER YOU DO TO FILL YOUR ORDERS, HOUSING MATERIALS, ETC. FOR THAT PURPOSE how could you possibly do that without being insured????????
Sorry for the caps, did not see that.

Thanks for all the thoughts and prayers, guys... it is humbling some of the help that is appearing from the most unexpected places. I feel more encouraged today than any day since this happened.

The garage is almost cleared out, we are building workbenches, the CNC will be ordered this afternoon...

And apologies trying to keep up with this thread. Kinda hard to sneak onto GLP too much with all that is happening, but I'll stay on it. ;-)
