1. US has not only the petro-dollar but the largest consumer base and most mature consumer base in the world.
2. US is largest producer of energy.
3. Investors in the US (China and Saudi) have a lot invested in the infrastructure and people of US...
4. When the time comes, non-productives will have a tough choice to make.

The bullets and gov' defenses are mainly for the freeloaders who's ship will run dry once the next president takes office. The next president will have to cut entitlement funding and this will cause civil unrest amongst the masses of unemployed and underemployed... those that work hard and have jobs will probably fair quite well but those that protest and try to loot or cause mayhem may come under stricter punishment as the society moves towards accountability.

I think Obama wants to be liked more than he fears being totally hated.

IT's the transformation of america into a facist overt dictatorship because the process of moving things forward is to slow with the democratic constraints - though it will always be called democracy, the presidents power will continue to concentrate and no future president will go back and unconcentrate that power... it will increase until it is a practical dictatorship with congress as a rubber stamp and the courts upholding whatever is declared law regardless of it's validity.

There will be jolts and camps will be filled with dissenters but if you work hard and forget about the 'system' and accept the life we have and the reality of the world in 2015, then life will be ok.
