Quoting: Anonymous Coward 45711270 [link to rt.com] completely badass. that, my friends, is the future. too bad the US didn't come up with the design. this is similar to what we thought the "Future Soviet Tank" would look like 25 years ago. now it's here. this is a much more survivable machine than the T-72 family. they've learned their lessons very well. us Murikans better roll out the M1A3 in a big f'ing hurry and even then, I'm not sure that the bigger gun is going to help. we might just be screwed. ...not including tax, title, and license. (as in forward spotter lights up the target that is over a horizon) I can hardly wait till they are drone operated by 4 guys in a basement somewhere. Nice as tracks are they are a rough and the bucking when starting and stopping has got to hurt over-all performance. Put big wheels at either end (on suspension) and smaller ones in-between that would flex with the terrain while the idlers on top were the tensioners. Being military with big bucks why not some slip on tracks for 4 wheel drive APC where the front and rear big rubber tires have a rubber treat go around them with a lot of slack and the slack is taken by a small roller to the front of the tire in the front and to the rear at the rear. When on the hi-way lift the rollers high and the contact patch is the same as a normal tire so fast cornering is possible as well as smooth cornering and when on muddy fields lower the roller close to the ground and the contact patch is equal to the flotation of a heavy tracked vehicle. Starting and stopping at will. How much to rent 6 and have them supplied with paint-ball shells? Last Edited by Wayfaring Stranger on 03/21/2015 01:15 AM |

Germany can do some decent designs, now if they only had unlimited gas and iron ore. . . . perhaps a rotary barrel shooting modified air-to-air munitions? 64 targets at one time. |
