I've been in many graveyards and I recommend it to anyone who thinks life is just one very long ride that never seems to end.

Trust me, it does.

I've seen headstones of children that never got to see the light of day of this life, and I've seen headstones of people who made it to 100. I've also seen headstones that the wording was illegible or the stone its self was broken or collapsed. I've seen headstones that had photo(s) embedded in it.

Markers of someone having passed. So many it boggles the mind.

People still remember Hitler.

And after 500 very few, then after 5000 none at all

All the more reason to do something truley amazing and memorable with your life or something truley evil....either way you memory will live on...I prefer to believe that you should try to help as many people as you can and try to be a positive influence to all...but in truth there's a 99% chance that you will be forgotten in a generation or two...deal with it

I won't care about what people on Earth think of me after death because I plan on being eternally alive in Heaven with God. Death here is like shedding old skin, our true selves live on beyond the physical body.

It is not the people of this life that matters but the next and what you did while you were here,

It's best not to be remembered. With the exception of Jesus, most people who are remembered are due to their heinousness while alive on this earth (Genghis Khan, Hitler, Attila The Hun, Stalin, etc.)

I visit the old graves, wondering who they were, what was their story, especially in this huge desert country.

I see all the babies and children they lost, some from disease, some from famine, others unknown.
Lost husbands, wives, brothers, sisters, and parents.

I understand and admire their courage, strength, and persistence, in their struggle to survive in an unknown land, where the seasons were opposite when they arrived here, where their gardens shriveled in our extreme heat, and later were flooded away, and our depleted soil did not nourish their gardens.

And then the deadly snakes, redback spiders, and all our other deadly creatures unknown to them.

I stand in awe, I honor them, whoever they were, I thank them, they are my ancestors.

Gone, not forgotten.

You are ignoring the abundance of real evidence for reincarnation.

I like to think that our souls live multiple lives growing and learning as we go.

So while no one may remember a certain somebody we once were, in the end we will attain true enlightenment through a long learning process.
