How to easily prove or disprove flat earth theory

1.) Meet two people online in both South America and Africa. Both continents are under nightfall at the same time at least once per day. We have the internet so it should not be difficult to find two people. Make sure they are in a dark zone; some parts of either country might not work. 2.) Ask both of them to either find a compass, or install a free compass app on their smartphone/tablet.

3.) Ensure both know what time in the other's location is, and the sunsets in both locations, so they know when it's nightfall in both locations.

4.) Ask both to watch the weather reports in both locations for a clear night sky in both locations at the same time.

5.) Ask them to both go outside on a clear night at the same time when it is nighttime in both places at the same time and look for the Southern Cross constellation. It is a very bright and easy to identify constellation.

6.) If flat earth is true neither will be able to see it at the same time. Or if they do see it at the same time, one of them will see it not at due south.

7.) If round earth is true they both will be able to see it at the same time in approximately the same direction, due south.

I don't want to hear how it won't work, or how flat earthers are stupid, or what the price of tea in China is. I'm just curious what the results of the experiment are.

Disclaimer: I take no sides in this debate, but I lean toward a round earth. Shouldn't matter what I think though.
