WOW Been burning over 2 weeks. My gawd.

Yeah, I was listening to my scanner when it was first reported. A small spot fire, but in a very inaccessible area off CA Hwy 70. Down a steep ravine. Firefighters were unable to access it. They had helos dropping water on it, but by the next morning it had exploded.

Sometimes, it is a blessing to live in the flatland as I do. Unless it is flood time LOL.

Crazy numbers today. Gotta love that -38,000 CFS inflow number at the end.

The elevation numbers are suspect, although inflow is reporting an increase.

Perhaps DWR has struck a deal with PG&E. The elevation at Lake Almanor is showing a slight decrease.

I'll be watching the next few days pretty closely.

It looks like they are getting donations ($$$$) from upstream to keep the inflow and outflow near matching. The drop in elevation has slowed considerably.

But there is no denying the inevitable.

Is it possible that they are using pump back systems to slow level drops? They can pump back all the way from the thermolito afterbay and river itself back into the lake using Hyatt.

This could reflect in the crazy negative inflow data etc.

The water movement and continuation is more important, than the use of power of the pumping, to overall management.

.....and probably cheaper than making a deal with other water resource management upstream.

I don't know. The afterbay has been holding steady at 135' for days. If they were pumping back, it seems there would be some fluctuation in the level.
