Got water back on this evening right after I showered with some water I had stored lol shit was ice cold but I feel great( used 2 gallons of water I had in a 55 gallon drum to bathe) I had to shower because I have spent the past 2 days going around my neighborhood cutting limbs for folks with a chain saw .... I was funky

Should have power in a day or 2 ( probably tomorro because a few hundred yards away people have power ) can wait for that warm shower

All the food in my fridge is gonna go bad , we cooked up all the meat we had in it

My big freezer outside hasn't been opened yet gonna check it in the am ...... Should be frozen still cause it's full of meat from hunting season


Worries are when I will return to work , should be in a few days when power is restored at the shop , then I have to hope my roads aren't flooded because I have to alter my route because my normal route is flooded
The other should be fine if a dam don't break

I'm gonna be taking a case of water to work with a few days food and my rifle and some magazines in case I'm stuck at the shop ( I'm not gonna go to a co workers home , out of spite to my boss I'm staying in the shop lol fuck it

Also there is a shit ton of various dogs , pit bulls , German shepards ect ect misplaced right now literally hundreds , IMPORTANT PART of this were a prolonged situation Where it could be months 3-4 or longer them dogs would form packs and probably turn feral and become a problem to livestock ( 7 chickens and 8 rabbits ) I eat the eggs and sometimes the rabbits , I keep 4 rabbits for breeding meat and I have 4 that are getting butchered soon.

Any ways we are returning to normal minus the flooding

Bad news there is a storm way out there and it's kinda pointed at our direction ( please lord don't let us get hit again )

Looters in every town reported all over ( why do people have to be so shitty) people are truly fucked and all folks are trying to do is get by .... No we gotta worry about that ( my shot gat lol and AR fitteeen lay beside me in hopes I never have to use them

Its anazing seeing people come together but it saddens me to see looting

Started working yesterday

Applied for assistance through Texas workforce commission for lost wages $450 there

My renters insurance covered $400 worth food due to it going bad

And fema gives $500 for misc items lost

So I got everything lost covered witch it amazing


Power came back on yesterday

THE BAD..... Fucking Mosquitos + no gas


Everything seams to be slowly going back to normal

I ended up buying 8 gals of gas in can stired because the ain't gas anywhere

I'm glad to hear you're getting some help. And very thankful you made it through without extremely heavy losses.

There isn't much information out here about the areas that actually got hit with the hurricane winds. The flooding has rather overshadowed it. But I want you to know that there are lots of people praying for you and your neighbors. And if you need more financial assistance, there is no shame in letting people help you.

Also, don't know what your situation is, but be sure to leave a firearm with your family if they are at home while you work. You're very right to be concerned about the dogs packing up, and they can be very, very dangerous.
