The taxes you are paying have exactly nothing to do with student loans or them being forgiven. and B. There are Patriotic, Conservative, God-fearing Americans included in those who fell in to the predatory lending surrounding higher education in these last couple decades. Right? |

He's going to cover the bad tuition loans which will never be paid back for those social justice activist degrees. It ticks me off we never even considered sending our kids to private colleges because they are too expensive and now people are going to have me pay for their private school educations. It used to be illegal to buy votes. What happened? |

Bernie will never explain what happens for taxpayers when the debt is "cancelled." Most of his idiotic, socialist supporters will think it just magically disappears. More than 90% of student loan debt is owned by the government. In some way, the government would have to take responsibility for that debt. By cancelling it, we the taxpayers lose the interest and payments that would have been made on those loans. |

Actually, since the federal government owns quite a bit of student loan debt, our tax dollars have a lot to do with student loans and loan forgiveness. The college scheme is in many ways similar to the housing scheme of the 90s which encouraged people to buy homes that they could never afford by taking out loans to do so. If you can't afford college, and you don't consider the massive burden of loans, you probably shouldn't go. People need to take responsibility for their actions and stop relying on the taxpayers by way of the federal government to solve their problems. |

Bernie, in typical all-out socialist fashion, just decided to go whole hog and eliminate all of the debt. |

Your reward for getting an education was a job and being able to afford houses. There are no jobs now and several people with multiple properties stagnating the housing market by inflating prices. So good luck finding a job, buying a home and paying student loans. What you fail to see is that people who can't afford these things are not contributing to your economy in the same way you are. While you can build a future fortune for your descendants , they barely get by. This will cause a bigger divide in wealth, which in turn will lead to higher crime, higher addiction, mental illness and suiciderates and lower productivity. Something has to be done or your economy will implode, so cut your losses. |

If Bernie got together with a fiscal conservative like Mike Lee or Rand Paul and figured out a way to pay for it without raising taxes, wouldn't be a bad thing. I think Dems would more than likely just add it to the debt though so I doubt it would work. You can pay for it without raising taxes with inflation. I don’t think that’s a good idea but that’s just me Or you could pay for it with taxes Or you could pay your own way |

Thermone no connection between people borrowing money for college and the various federal, state, and local taxes you have or ever will pay. That just isnt how it works. |
