They're in Heaven. The line about sleeping after death is misinterpreted and not meant to be taken in a literal sense. I've had answered prayers from a few saints over the years and some loved ones have responded in some way to let us know they were ok.
Pray this prayer to blind Satan:

The bottom line is nobody knows, not even the Bible. That's because nobody has ever come back from the dead to explain. And I don't mean temporarily dead like on the operating table. I mean dead, dead.

Everything is pure speculation.

Jesus came back, and said he would go away again and prepare a place for us, and where he goes we will go also. I take that to mean heaven, not a hole in the ground.

Re: Are our dead loved ones sleeping or waiting for us in Heaven?
I died in September, and was dead for 10 minutes.

I was more "alive" in heaven than I have ever been on earth. It's like the wax paper came off my eyes, and I could experience life at a much more intense level than anything I've known on earth.

It was phenomenal.

We're asleep right now. When we die, we awaken.

I'm sure of it.

I believe you. Looking forward to it.

No. If Heaven exists, they probably have better things to do than worry about your Earthly problems.

It explains it in the bible. When you die you are sleeping until judgement day when all come alive to be judged even the angels.

Those worthy will go to heaven. The evil ones will die (ashes to ashes).

No, the righteous are sleeping until the first resurrection:

The first resurrection is mentioned in Revelation 20: "This is the first resurrection. Blessed and holy is the one who shares in the first resurrection! Over such the second death has no power, but they will be priests of God and of Christ, and they will reign with him for a thousand years" (Revelation 20:5b-6). Those involved in the first resurrection will already be raised to life prior to the 1,000-year reign of Christ called the millennium.

The second resurrection is described in Revelation 20:12-13: "And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Then another book was opened, which is the book of life. And the dead were judged by what was written in the books, according to what they had done. And the sea gave up the dead who were in it, Death and Hades gave up the dead who were in them, and they were judged, each one of them, according to what they had done." This group will include those who are unbelievers who will be assigned by judgment to the lake of fire (Revelation 20:15).

Between these two resurrections is the 1,000-year millennial kingdom. Believers reign with the Lord during this period and have already been resurrected. Unbelievers are described in Revelation 20:5 as, "The rest of the dead did not come to life until the thousand years were ended."

To escape Aggregate Matter, one would need to ascend beyond the Great Celestial Sphere. That is where the Heavens reside. We sleep until we rise in Christ.

Those who “judge” others here, like those bashing the Adventist, best start reading their Bibles better. Who are you to judge man now, here on Earth? I pray you get this correct one day.

I am tired off this satanic Seventh Day Adventist cult.

They do not recognize Jesus for who He really is.

They lead people away from Him and into Hell.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 22255432

You forgot all the other cult churches to include the Catholic Church right? For those that follow blindly without knowledge are in a cult. I would say those in the Seventh Day Church may just know more about the real words written in the bible then those that sit in and listen without reading the bible themselves. Do you know how mad I would have been at Jesus if he raised me from the dead to come back to this world, if we were "in Heaven". You are sleeping until the days of judgement where everyone will be judged and move to the next realm of heaven or be destroyed in the lake of fire.

Re: Are our dead loved ones sleeping or waiting for us in Heaven?
It’s so confusing. Can they see us and hear us? Or sleeping?
 Quoting: Freckle Face

They are dead, not sleeping or waiting in the mythical heaven. You were not, then you were, then you were not. The confusion will end when you stop trying to make sense of a bronze age fairy tale. You discarded santa, tooth fairy, Easter bunny when you realized the truth. Just throw away one more. You don't believe in any of the many other gods, just add one more.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 75583697

This is like telling people who have ridden in a car that cars don’t exist because you haven’t ridden in one.

You can’t come up with proof of what gravity is, or dark matter, or how fast galaxies are moving apart, or what consciousness is, or what the collapse of the wave function actually is, or whether the universe is actually infinite, or what time actually is, or what happened at the moment of the Big Bang, or what came before it, or exactly how biology managed to start, or whether there are more than one universe, or if there are really those string things or not.

But you know for absolute certain that God doesn’t exist.

Yeah, you’ll pardon me if I don’t buy into your imaginary assertion.

Nay, the Spirits are always active.

If you say to me "Rest in peace", I will say to you "I am in peace and do not need any rest!"

Re: Are our dead loved ones sleeping or waiting for us in Heaven?
My dad (who was dead) showed up when my mom was dying...so I don't believe the dead are sleeping.

But even if they were sleeping...it wouldn't matter because we are not aware of the passage of time when we sleep. So if you were sleeping for 2 seconds or 10,000 years...it wouldn't matter.
If I am going to be damned...I am going to be damned for who I really am!

The saved ones are present with the Lord awaiting the resurrection of their bodies.

The unsaved ones are tormented in hellfire.
