Quoting: Anonymous Coward 5461667 If he knew the murderer was a psycho (and how could he not?), that leaves the responsibility for his murders right on this dildo's doorstep. Nothing illegal with what he bought him and no straw purchase. A straw purchase is when you buy a firearm for someone else so they don't have to fill out a 4473 form. "A longtime friend of the Dayton gunman bought the body armor, a 100-round magazine, and a gun accessory" The illegal part is when both of them lied about not using illegal drugs on their 4473 form when they purchased the firearms. Yeah, think you're right. I read so many stories, I thought the AR part was numbered. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 77908023 Long rifles, like the AR-15, belong in places where there is room to shoot it. Maybe Midwestern states, down South in some parts, Vermont and so on. Perhaps the ban should be limited, to a zone, say within a certain radius of a major city, which can be outlined by outlaying markers on every major road, train, water way or access point to that area, which states that such weapons are then prohibited. That way, people who hunt and own guns responsibly, are not treated like criminals, are not stripped of their 2nd Amendment rights and there's an added degree of safety from having such weapons being fired in close proximity to others. Because, not for nothing, back when the 2nd Amendment was written, there were no suburbs and large cities like New York, Atlanta, Los Angeles, Chicago, Las Vegas and the likes. Within suburban areas which have homes within or under, 500 feet of each other, only a shotgun or hand pistol should be permitted and this verification, licensing and such, could be further tied to the owner or renters proof of land deed at the county office showing that property, relative to any adjacent ones. That way, people can also still protect themselves, without shooting a round through sheet rock and accidentally killing their next door neighbor by accident. Just an idea, don't come down too hard on me with criticism here. shall not be infringed upon...period its not about hunting... |

The charging document says Ethan Kollie bought the items for Connor Betts and kept them at his apartment so his friend's parents would not find them. Prosecutors on Monday unsealed a charge against Kollie that accused him of lying about not using marijuana on federal firearms forms in the purchase of a pistol that was not used in the shooting. Betts also pushed for violence against so-called “fascists,” a term increasingly used by leftist activists to describe average conservatives. In one case, he replied to a Buzzfeed story and wrote: “Kill every fascist.” He shared an article from the New Republic about an alleged “global fascist movement,” and shared posts doxxing people who users said attended a pro-Ku Klux Klan rally in Dayton, writing, “Know your enemies.” Betts shared videos from Some More News that were anti-Republican, including one from host Cody Johnston that claimed “the president wants to shoot migrants at the border.” Betts described immigration detention centers as “concentration camps,” writing on Twitter: “Cut the fences down. Slice ICE tires. Throw bolt cutters over the fences.” The hyperbolic language, popularized by Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.), was also used recently by a 69-year-old Antifa member who attacked an immigration facility in Washington state before being shot dead. These pics were photoshopped. Like what were they doing to the Betts character image, try to erase someone elses mustache and add glasses to the image? [link to fotoforensics.com] This was a drill that was responded on cue by a group of cops in front of a camera in (convenient) in under 30 seconds. There is no evidence of any gunshot wounds or blood. If you are going to claim body armor then I suppose it was shots to the head. Their own photo showed no head injury no blood. I guess they are back in distraction mode. |

That form was used to purchase a pistol - so it really had nothing to do with the drum mag or body armor. The guy was charged for whatever reason the feds decided to do so. He left himself open to it unfortunately. He'd probably not have been charged if the feds didn't want something from him. Of course, if he gave the pistol to the real perp, he could have been charged for a straw purchase. |
