2 years mandatory military service.
One mandatory firearm per person per house with option for more. If people saw someone without a gun it would be weird. No one would try shit. Can you imagine living in a world where cops checked to see if you have your mandatory firearm?

Not being a turd.
I'm asking an honest question that hopefully gets honest answers.
My thought is I don't think you can

Here is the obvious solution to gun violence.

This article tells us exactly what needs to be done:

When 90% of mass-shooters in the U.S. are Registered Democrats, it’s time to admit we DON’T have a gun problem in America, we have an epidemic of radicalized democrats

[link to virginiapatriot1776.wordpress.com (secure)]

After all, it's democrats that want to ban guns. It's democrats that are 90% of mass shooters

I have always thought or suspected liberalism or "progressivism" is a sign of mental illness.

Therefore, ban democrats from owning guns. They shouldn't mind giving up their guns since they are the ones calling for gun bans. And well, if there are legal, law abiding registered democrats who would object to a ban on democrat gun ownership, well that's what they get for voting for democrats.

Re: How would you change gun laws if you thought it would really change anything
No laws in and of themselves are going to solve this issue. In my opinion we must teach and enforce responsible actions at a very young age (as many have suggested), fundamentally this requires a change to the current destructive influences against the family structure. The vast majority of intelligent, stable, reliable, rational, compassionate individuals came from an intact and loving family. The number of negative influences on the normal biological family are forcing it into extinction.

The road back to normalcy will, IMHO, only occur when the unstoppable pendulum of accepted human behaviors reaches the limit of the extreme and swings back the other way. I say this because change happens very slowly, unfortunately by then the masses will most likely find themselves in an inextricable situation once the people, out of fear, allow the government the complete power to control every aspect of their lives thinking that is the solution path.

And thus has it always been.......Oh well.

The premises to change gun laws won't actually change anything because criminals and those that disobey the law will make sure of that fact!

The old saying is-

"Ban guns and only outlaws will have guns"

The first response to your post lays out the only solution.

Mental health.

Take a trip and learn when Mental health help and facilities declined, that snowball started rolling down that hill in the middle 90's with Bill.

That which should lead you to Bush jr, Obama and the desired Clinton again.

It was their plan!

How would I change people?

Take away welfare to make them work...

Mandatory gun safety class at the age of 16.
I'm saying this only because of video games and a kid truly does not know the nature of a weapon

Fuck you, they would try to make me use the safety and I REFUSE to lock the trigger on any of my weapons...

I would bring back State run Psychiatric centers.
Lots of people walking around need help. A Hospital top floor 3 day evaluation and then back on the street is all the help most folks can get.
The gun laws are fine but the people sometimes need help.

If you consider how many adults need a "comfort animal" or fuzzy blanket, prescription drugs, safe space or mental crutch of some kind, State hospitals may be a place to start. But how do you sort out 20 or so defective people out of 325 million?

I think your number is alot higher than 20. 52 million voted for killary so you got to figure 60 million of those votes may have been legitimate and every single one of them is mentally ill.

It’s not going to happen, especially now that the media have effectively convinced every one that there’s a race war. There is no race war. It’s just easily manipulated people looking for a reason to be angry.
It’s a Thorazine word party, with free Fluoride bubble gum.

nada,

just warn people to arm themselves because besides that there's nothing you can really do about crazies. If you take away guns, you are more likely to become a victim because criminals will always have guns and crazies will always have a way (vehicles, knifes, etc..)

Look at the % of the population that are psychopaths and sociopaths. Considering that, I think we are doing pretty good.

Tis just the price of freedom. otherwise we'd be mexico where the cartels run the show

I would change them!!!

I would make it like candy. To where anyone and I mean ANYONE could go into a store and buy a gun at any point in time. Anyone 18 and over. And I would encourage every human on earth to own at least one and be legal to carry it any where any time.

Watch how fast them gun crimes drop. Everyone and their mother would be carrying. You think a criminal of any kind is guna think "I could dominate with this gun". NO. Because they would know that every single person has one too, and would be shot as soon as they tried ANYTHING yoda

Re: How would you change gun laws if you thought it would really change anything
Start with harsh penalties for having any military grade weapon that isn’t registered. Harsh penalties for possession of a military grade weapon OUTSIDE YOUR OWN HOME.
Anyone with a history of violence would be unable to legally own firearms, and they would be subject to search if they create any noise.
Since Big Brother is everywhere, and most people spill their guts online anyway, whatever bullshit a person spews online about guns would be fair game to search them for unregistered weapons. And if you break those laws, you’re branded dangerous, like a sex offender.
Still freedom, but penalties for being an asshole.

Remember, this sort of thing used to be rare. What is it that changed in the last couple of decades. Is it a sudden gushing of unchecked despair? Some overwhelming realization (at the personal level) of how bad things are and how unlikely recovery is? A cumulative rush of hopelessness some how? How would we pre-identify someone reacting with mass shooting as a final result? What would the precursors be?

Well, MANY things have changed since "back in the day". To assume it's just one of those things (drugs) is irresponsible.

Access to firearms and access to the type of firearms being used has also increased. Population has increased also...more targets...more mental illness. People have also become less tolerant of each other and seem to use any sad reason they can think of to end the lives of others.

which is all the Left really wants! Yet, the right insists that the left wants to take guns away from everyone.

Maybe those on the right believe that the only effective gun control WOULD be taking them all away! It's like admitting that there are too many nutjobs with dangerous toys out there.

But, as much regulation and insurance as one needs to own a car is absolutely reasonable!

They do want to take guns away from everybody and slowly chipping away at the 2a is how they achieve this goal.

If they just outright banned guns there would be a civil war. However, 50 years of chipping away, importing gov dependent sheep and pushing anti-gun propaganda will do just the trick.
