We have the neighborhood megachuch here, now they keep cloning it into more and more locations here in AZ building more and more buildings but still only one main pastor who projects himself onto ginormous screens in each location, being live only in one of them. The entire Church thing and giving money to a Church is a myth created out of thin air.

Two or more people discussing religion is "holding Church".

But there is something wrong with a bunch of godless humans, a bunch of believe in nothing humans, with a desire to control the thoughts of those that wanna believe in something.

Those that have religion and believe in it don't try t control those that don't believe in anything.

I visited one like that in Austin. The pastor was a cool guy and there was contemporary music and video screens. i knew many people there, but it was entertainment with a little bit of religion sprinkled on top.

Christian fellowship is important but you won't always find that at church. I am a non-church going Christian with Christian friends with like-minded morals. I have prayed to be led to a church but that has not happened.

Every time they get away with it they are more emboldened. How long do any of you think it will be before a Christian Church is hit when it is full of parishioners and the day cares are full? Will we sit and wait? Because sure as we are talking about it here, just bank on it. Remember those children lost in the daycare in the Towers? So technically its already happened, but now they are hitting multiple targets successfully and unanswered! Disaster awaits all those who dont exercise due diligence. Read your bible.

I do go to church by the way.. for the observations and because I like the people where I go.. sensible people who are not sensible however in church.. total copy paste and yet some of them do really hear the Inner Father.. their stories prove it... but Father God or God still lives in the sky to them... they do not see him within.

I see a couple of reasons for this.

Just in my own opinion, I'm not too big on the whole idolatry thing, so I kind of see statues as just that--statues.

On the other hand, I don't think the Christians are actually worshiping these "graven images" and rather, I see that many people give these objects a solemn, if no sacred character. Therefore, these (and all religious objects IMO) must be given respect and reverence, if only by virtue of the fact that many people consider these objects religiously significant. It's just plain respect and the only decent way to conduct one's self in civilized society. One need not believe, but one can certainly appreciate the fact that these things mean something to someone. It's called being considerate and respectful of others.

Having said that, I do believe these desecrations can be explained in a few ways: the perps are either suffering from psychological issues, they are politically/ethnically/religiously motivated, or they see themselves as activists (and very MISGUIDED ones at that).

It's fairly clear that a small subset of disturbed and psychologically deranged teenagers knock over tombstones for "fun" or for whatever other point they're trying to lash out against and this has been going on for decades now.

According to that video, it seems that the "activist" type seems to be on a "mission" and that by destroying, they are somehow exposing the corruption found within churches/religion. These are the kinds of people who believe everything they read on the Internet. I get it--religion has been responsible for incalculable suffering and bloodshed, but I'm certainly not going to go around as a petty vandal to try and make some point. And apparently, these people must be fairly simple minded because there is corruption, at varying degrees, in all systems of human organization. In my view, the "activists" that would stoop to this kind of thing are low IQ people that typically never think things through to their logical conclusion. They just do stupid things.

Next, you have the political and religious motivations. These seem to me to be the most dangerous. I think it is very clear that there are certain ideologies that are trying to destroy the Western way of life, and of course, wiping out the collective religious and cultural heritage of a people is one way to create instability in any society.

Those are the HUMAN motivations. However, I think there is a spiritual character to all of this, as well, and it's connected to the general state of the world today. Regardless of whether you believe in demons or evil spirits or the devil or whatever you want to call it, there should be no doubt to any right-thinking person that evil is manifesting on this planet, and global in scope, that has not been seen for generations.

The people committing these horrible acts need to be found and held accountable. But they also need forgiveness and prayer.

The person who is apparently so messed up in the head to even consider destroying a church statue is in desperate need of prayer.

But it's not just them. The whole world needs prayers.

Your not alone, we are millions. Just because we don't go to a church doesn't mean we don't absolutely Love our God and His Son Jesus. God will not be impressed by your attendance record nor how nice the building was you went to. I fellowship even with a member here on GLP. You are the living temple of the Living God! He dwells inside your vessel in spirit and in might! Don't be fooled. Iron sharpens Iron do as the Apostles and Jesus did. No doubt it's strange and creates fear among Christians, most do not know the one they claim. If they did none of this would be strange or cause fear.

The Church is NOT a building. It is a body of like minded believers, and the Bride of Christ.
