Here's what stopped the GoFast Rocket dead in its tracks | |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 67229503 United States 12/24/2019 10:38 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | That rocket is spinning a hell of a lot faster then 6 times per second. He describes the de-spin mechanism as a cable with a weight... like a yo yo? I'd love to see how that works, a spinning mass stopped in 1 second with a cable and a weight, like a yo yo. Who pulled the string??? BWHAHAHAH.... That is a good one, ranks right up there with earth is a spinning ball (2/3rd of which is oceans) and the centrifugal force of spinning earth doesn't cause the waters to gather at the equator. And his challenge... Ridiculous, one guy jumps off the edge while the other films it... Really? That's the old grade school programing that one could fall off the edge. This guy proves nothing as his explanation is not acceptable without some type of of proof of the de-spin mechanics. To stop the spin that fast would be a real feat. All that said that video of the rocket carries no weight as its easily manipulated to appear to stop. I've always been skeptical of said video, it doesn't prove anything. A real one |

Makes for good horrywood Exactly. prove there's an edge on your flat spinning disc... go get some f*ckin pics, fall off whatever, get something tangible, something logical to believe. Go up and knock on the dome, something, anything other than tard talk. Until then its all hogwash and those who have endeavored to come to some explanation through science are light years ahead of you. You could spend your life in so many better ways than the continuance of bullshit you follow. Sure the world is a chaotic place and truth is hard to come by... there are a few who have stepped outside the chaos and found truth but you fail to see or reason with anything outside of your envelope where you hide with no eyes to see nor the ears to hear. so prove it beyond what the sciences discovered "A wise man listens to the message and uses his logic and discernment to process it, a fool negates the message by prejudging the messenger." "He whose centre is everywhere and whose circumference is nowhere." |

Knowing how his video became a lightening rod for flat earthers with over a million views on YouTube for a video claiming his rocket "hit the flat earth dome" and stopped, I had to ask him about it... His response included a challenge with a beautiful 1978 Corvette as a reward. I want to know why anyone pays any attention to Flat Earth Retards! They should just get the Dope Slap! |

The rocket did not stop dead in its tracks as stated in the subject title according to the creator rocket man. Then rocket man tells us the rocket stopped spinning do to a de-spin cable un-spooling with a weight... like a yo yo. what a bunch of bullshit. Logical thinking... |

All these videos of rockets and not one actually "shows" a yo yo or a string. In the video the guy claims the yo yo device is deployed via remote control. Really? How does he know when to deploy it? 2 video cameras at different angles and neither one shows the yo yo device. Pure disinfo |

Quoting: confused_but_not_idiot The main thing to learn is that it is illegal to build a rocket that has steering capability! Try getting the faa waiver to launch something weighing more than a couple of pounds to more than 50000 ft. Steering or no. So why not just hook some party balloons to your drone. |

How To Stop a Spinning Rocket - Yo-Yo De-spin Explained This at about 6:30 if you want to get right to the demo. I watched the videos then searched "rocket yo yo de-spin". Was quite surprised to learn that there is such a system. Here's a PDF from NASA explaining the mechanics and diagrams. [link to ntrs.nasa.gov (secure)] I'll admit I was wrong saying such a system is crazy, it does exist. Therefore I'll "take it back". Odds are this is what stopped or reduced the spin of the rocket. I'm wondering why it took so long for rocket man to come out with the explanation that it didn't hit the dome it was just de-spun. Either way the go-fast video really doesn't prove anything except there is no "dome" up to the altitude 78 miles. I would expect it to be much further out anyway. It's still flat... |

You can literally see the curve of the Earth in this video even when the horizon is across the center of the screen where fisheye distortion is not a factor. It's not flat. Why did it take so long? I randomly met him at this museum, once I realized who he was I asked him to do this interview on the spot and he agreed. He didn't need time to prepare, he knew the answer because he built the rocket with his team. He hasn't had anyone interview him about this before (funny how none of you flat earth assholes bothered to ask him) but he was happy to do so and he even gave me his contact info in case I have any follow up questions later on. |
