why pay over $10 to go see a movie in a movie theater when you can stay home watch the same movie for two or three dollars and put the movie on pause to hit the restroom or to make some popcorn in your own kitchen? also, there are no naggers to make a bunch of noise and disrupted movie when you're at home watching a movie.

I switched to video games. The avg Tom Clancy Division player is in their 40s, The second one in the franchise is a theory crafting game where you can make thousands of different builds. Then you test out your handiwork in PVP and PVE arenas and missions

I used to watch the old "Doctor Who". I pretty much gave up during last season becuase I saw the propaganda way too much. I skimmed through last week's episode out of curiosity and it turns out at the end the female "Doctor" (gender-swapping) turns right to the camera and says what just happened in the episode was Earth in some years from now and what happened was caused by "global warming" but if all of us take action now we can change all of that.

The plots, writing, and acting in some of these video games are far, far superior to what you get from most movies. And it's an interactive experience to boot.

The great irony is they feed us constantly with shows featuring guns and other violence, and have made vast amounts of money with this. Yet, they would deny us guns to defend ourselves.

I would even go further back than that. Except for a few outliers like The Lord of the Rings trilogy, 90% of what they've made after 2000 is dreck. Maybe even the mid 90s.

I watched Gladiator a year ago or so after not seeing it since it first came out and I was absolutely blown away by it. Almost nothing Hollywood makes today even comes close to the quality of that movie. It really made me realize just how shit the movies are today.

Yep there are perhaps half a dozen post-2000 films worth seeing. A couple by Mike Judge, LOTR, that's all I can think of. It's why 90% of the films I own are on Laserdiscs, which look better anyhow being pure analog.

Cool! I tried XBox a few years ago, with Call of Duty, but found out that I can't sit and play games for long without feeling I want to get up and do things. With a movie, you can fall asleep and watch the rest of it later!
