Need advice on stray cats

OP - just let it keep roaming the streets if you can't afford to help it.
A water bowl and food would help it, as you already do.
Or find someone else to take care of it.

Can you make a safe space for them somewhere? Maybe a just a box with a blanket in it to keep them warm during this cold snap?

She's already going to die soon if you can't afford a vet. The least you can do is look into your bank account and see if you can afford an outdoor warm pet home for her. Even with that the chances of her surviving is real low, but now that there is a pet home, she won't roam very far and will be near food.

I was a feeding a stray cat for 2 years and then she showed up with a crushed leg. I didn't know what to do so I just charged it on a credit card. 1400 bucks. At the time I had regrets but I felt like it was the right thing to do. 7 years later she's the love of my life.

You may not have the money, but love will help you find a way.

The ideal thing is to take her to a vet. not an animal hospital, that will cost you your whole life savings. take her to a vet but you will have to trap her and put her in a cage.

If you have the money to heal her up, do you have family or a neighbor that might take her in? Then you can visit her every day. Even if she lives another 3 years after visiting the vet, those 3 years will be some of the best in your life. She can't communicate to you now but when you die she will be there to thank you.

Can you find a local cat rescue organization to help them? Maybe call some veterinarians and see if they know of any.

Check to see if there a local animal rescue willing to take them in. We have quite a few here where I live. They will get the cat the medical attention it needs or maybe euthanizing might be needed.

I have a rescue cat and a stray that I took in. Of course I live in the country and have a house. I would get 2 cardboard boxes and rags and take them in. Get some salve from drugstore for wounds and fashion a bleach bottle to put around the neck to keep them from messing with the wounds.

Oh I hope you will be able to find them a good home or keep them.

Call vet & explain what you think happened. Many will take in homeless animals hit by cars & fix them up & find homes at no charge-since this could be a criminal case they likely will take it. If it is in pain you are sure to find one that will put it down. If it isn't in pain it is probably easier for it to die in peace outside. Calling police/animal control may likely result in it being euthanized in a more stressful way. Good luck.

Maybe you could find a box & throw some old sweatshirts in it for the kitty (or towels, or stuffed animals, anything to keep it warm).

Please google local cat rescues ASAP. The poor cat is suffering. I understand u don’t have the means to take on vet bills or even care for it, but can u please just see what local cat rescues are in ur area? If it’s only a local shelter, they will euthanize, but sometimes there’s a local no kill shelter that will take and try to help and as a last resort euthanize. Just google: local shelters

Get an old insulated cooler.. cut 2 wholes in it and fill it with old sheets.
Put canned cat food or turkey flavored baby food in it.. order some fish amoxicillin online..
You can google the dosage and mix it into her food.
Usually it’s 200mg a packet and you split that into 3 separate meals and do that for 2 or more weeks.
She’ll go in.. eat, stay warm and maybe feel better
I’ve done this with a lot of strays
What city do you live in?
The city usually has a stray cat program.
Sometimes euthanasia is the best thing

Please take her in to be humanely euthanized OP. You decided to feed her, she thinks you will help her.
Please put an end to her pain. Take her to the vet.

Catch them then deliver them to the back door of your nearest Chinese restaurant in the dead of night.

You have to maintain a little mental distance from them. You cannot save the world.

But you can do what you can to try to make their life a little better.

We bought a little cat barn. It has a heating pad in it. We have a couple of ferals that wad up in it on cold nights.

If you do what you can just to help you shouldn't beat yourself up for not being able to do more.

cats are very sophisticated , but they are also, impartial to our ways of communicating and sharing , watch how they differ ever so slightly , that's their key to imortatilty

If they could come inside, at least until you look around your area for no-kill shelter, or Cat Group.

If one is too bad off, you could take her to put humanely to sleep at vets. That cost would not be very significant.
