Good point - if they didn't get water and food, they also didn't get masks and gloves and goggles, so definitely DO NOT open the door, and just get rid of them the best way you can. They will die of the disease, or be so busy trying to get well they have no time to bother you, or they will be "hospitalized" by TPTB and no longer a problem to you.

Damn right. I gave up a lot of good times to prep. The relatives partied, took nice vacations every year, have new vehicles and eat out a lot.

Greed? Most non preppers have the idea that god will take care of them. God will provide for them.

Well god helps those who help themselves.

For the most part...have everything hidden, covered, locked up or buried. Keep a big pot of soup on the stove. If they come begging, and they are family or friends, pass out bowls of soup. Tell them that is all your family has, soup stuff. Feed them the meal of only soup then tell them they have to leave. Hopefully they will look for better pickings elsewhere.

The godly ones need to go to church and the minister will feed them. I would think churches will set up soup kitchens and bread lines.

Hang your plywood, with lots of screws, hunker down, and keep eating simple and avoid cooking smells that might draw in wanderers.


Many believe the gubmint will save them. This is a common theme - they only have to manage for a little while and then the gubmint will be there to hand out water and food and whatever else they need.

Perhaps just tell the beggars no, you cannot help, but to go home and wait because the gubmint will be along shortly to take care of them, but the gubmint will pass on by if the house is not occupied, and they will only give out necessities to the people who are physically present at that address.

This should send them scurrying back home, especially after you add "That's what I'm doing - waiting for the gubmint to come help me."

Hey dummy... That verse is addressing worldly people who place more importance on acquiring power and wealth, than things eternal.

The following passage is much more applicable to the issue at hand:

"Again the word of the Lord came to me, saying, “Son of man, speak to the children of your people, and say to them: ‘When I bring the sword upon a land, and the people of the land take a man from their territory and make him their watchman, when he sees the sword coming upon the land, if he blows the trumpet and warns the people, then whoever hears the sound of the trumpet and does not take warning, if the sword comes and takes him away, his blood shall be on his own head. He heard the sound of the trumpet, but did not take warning, his blood shall be upon himself. But he who takes warning will save his life. Great fkn idea- now, to find a somewhat legit doc that looks like the state/CDC has issued a warning to all who visit my door to stay the fk away cause I am self quarantined .
If anyone here can come up with such a printable paper ,Ide love to run it down and get it laminated for such an event.

OK, my nieces and nephews always say, "Uncle darth, if SHTF, I am coming to your house".

I will welcome them...from a distance.

They will be instructed to drive to the back pasture and set up a tent which I will provide if necessary. They will get a bag of rice and some basic vittles to survive.

Six weeks quarantine. They have to dig a latrine and stay in their tent.

Most have nice cars to sleep in as well.

I will especially be glad if my jarhead nephew shows up to help with security. He was killing talibunnies from 1500 meters recently.

I also have a blue stripe sticker on my back bumper in hopes that it reduces my chances of getting pulled over.

If that's all you have to begin with, you should have them come over because your not prepped and your only hope since you're not prepped is safety in numbers. An extra can of pork & beans is not being prepped.

Actually I'm trying to figure who I want to ask in and share my preps with. While everyone is busy lording over their hoard and making enemies I'll be making friends. If tstf loyal friends will be your most valuable asset.

If you really to want make your only friend go away so that you can enjoy your 6 days of pork & beans all to yourself, just start coughing all over the place then go to shake his hand. We all know you only have one friend though OP, because with an attitude like yours you probably don't have very many.

If you told them that OP then you didn't have friends.

Don't tell anyone that you prepped. That way no one will come over to try to take your stuff.

To all who say to "share" your preps...I would like to introduce you to simple math.

Say I have a month worth of preps for myself.

If my 2 brothers and 1 sis come to "share"...I now have 1 week of preps.

If they bring their kids (which you know damn well they would)...then I'm down to 3 days of preps.

Basic math! Learn it! Live it! LOVE IT!

If they try to use force or kick the door in I will shoot. I would really like to avoid that scenario if possible!

1) If STHF they won't be calling you, because the phones won't be working.
2) Unless they live within walking distance, chances are they won't be driving either. So they will have no way to take the preps with them.

3)Then, unless they are real lucky, the looters, robbers, rapists and such, will get to them, since they are now on foot(and probably unarmed), before they even get to your door.

4) since there will be no "city" water, they will be dehydrated and weak, if they even get that far.

So now, the few,(if any), that made it that far must be
real good survivors. So it might be a good idea to take them in, put them to work and just plan on rationing what you have, until they can help provide additional resources.

You can always use more help in gardening,hunting,chopping wood for fires, etc.

i might add; that since you do not know what SHTF entails or have not considered it well enough( per your OP), chances are that you will not survive the first month either.

I would prep even more and when they come calling, ask them what they have to trade. You could probably pick up some good stuff for practically nothing.
