Re: So who's going to work tomorrow?
I’m going in tomorrow. I process documents and while I have the ability to work from home and most of my team already are, my wretched director has elected to make me one of the last few who must still come in. I know it’s only a matter of time before the shoe drops. I have health issues but I need the income.

Re: So who's going to work tomorrow?
Actually I won't be. My boss called me a little after 9:30 tonight to tell me that we are now going to be closed.

Which means you'll be paid now, right?
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 78474764

Yes, I think so.
 Quoting: Anonymous Girl

Yeah, that's a relief I'm sure.

My daughter works at a daycare center. She'll be paid too but she's not happy about it... she would rather go to work and have things back the way they were before teotwawki.

I'm a Utility Arborist. I remove trees that fall on powerlines. Better then having to work inside around people. I'm a single dude and only work with one other person. That puts me in a good position all things considered. My only concern is my co-works gf is a teacher for many kids. if he gets sick he can remove the trees himself. By I do understand keeping the power on for the ungrateful masses is paramount. I will go on for as long as possible.

Props to you! If it helps, I've read that being outdoors and out in the sunshine (UV rays) could possibly help prevent viruses from taking hold and also boost immunity/general health.

Re: So who's going to work tomorrow?
I always have to be there. No one does my job.

I have lots of sick leave and vacation too!

I never take it. There's nowhere to go and no one to take

and no 'extra' money to do it with anyways.

And I'm not just staying home wasting it

by staying home and doing nothing either.

But, I'm a janitor, it's not that hard.

3 years I've never had a long vacation. Just like

two days off in a row. And extended holidays by a day

so it feels like I'm taking something.

They did shut down the college but all "essential personnel"

will be in as normal.

So yeah, working...

Re: So who's going to work tomorrow?
I work at a public library in Illinois and will be going in to work tomorrow. We will not be open to the public, but we will be there to answer phones, emails, and process book deliveries of holds that people ordered. We're going to be doing a lot of projects like painting, creating signage, weeding through books and cleaning them, etc.

We are talking about still having people be able to pick up their book holds at the door.

We are also able to use vacation time if we have any.

We live in northern Ont. All the schools are closed down for 3 weeks. I doubt we'll see them open again before Sept.

We live 30 minute drive to the off-grid bush. Worse comes to worse... you'll know where we'll be headed.

I'm betting this coming week will be the most "interesting time" in the passed 100 years.

I honestly hope I'm wrong!

I'm working at the grocery store tomorrow. I'm on the front line, come into contact with 100s of people a day. I love my job security right now. Hopefully a truck comes in tomorrow. The shelves are getting sparse. I already stocked up, with my employee discount. I might cash in some of my vacation hours for a little something to fall back on.
